酒店回复: I'm sorry to hear things didn't go as planned. We pre-authorize all cards the day of the arrival for the first night of the stay to make sure the reservations are valid. If a card declines, we call to verify the guest is coming. If they aren't, we cancel it, but if they are, we ask for a valid card (just like any website asks when making a reservation) to keep holding it. Unfortunately we've had a rash of people booking rooms with almost empty gift cards just to hold the room, and simply not showing up if they didn't feel like it. We're a smaller property, and having empty rooms at the end of the night because we hoped the people that did not want to give us a valid card (like everyone else) didn't show up (surprise surprise), seems silly to us. I'm sorry good guest like yourself get caught in the cross fire, unfortunately its an industry wide problem with no clear solution other than ensuring the guests that booked intend on staying by providing a valid card either at the time of booking (like all the websites ask you to provide) or by other means if it declines. Oh, and sorry about the fridge, it works, also new, but needs to be turned on with the temperature knob. Thank you.
