Never really felt good enough or able to go away and having the brief ability, was made better by going to such a nice hotel. I suggest they address their wall mounted tv at its location, that is right above a wall mounted fixed long table/counter to sit at, eat at etc. The T.V. at that wall mounted counter is right over head. I stood up from sitting at it and hit my head so bad and hard on the lower rim/edge of that t.v., that it knocked me back down into my chair, I lost balance and the hit caused a bump on my head. Be wary of that. Otherwise, its priced fairly and their breakfast that is included, has all a person could want. The A.C. system was so quiet and efficient. The bed was very comfortable even for me, with daily physical pain. It felt like a new bed. It was nice to be able to go to such a nice place and feel somewhat normal by going away.

The positives - plenty of parking, room recently refurbished beautifully with lots of storage, a fridge, microwave and large TV. Generally very clean. The ground floor reception area has a very strong air freshener smell. The negatives - the second floor corridor and the room moreso smelled strongly of mould/mildew, which was clearly visible around the built in window seat surrounding the aircon unit. Switching the aircon off and opening the window lessened the smell, but it didn't get rid of it. Mould can be seen in the photos in this review to the left hand side of the built in, along the top edge of the aircon unit where it meets the wall and in the corner of the window frame directly above the unit. With the window open people chatting loudly outside late and very early could clearly be heard. The bathroom door caught on the tiled floor and had to be pushed open and closed with some force. A $100 damage deposit was taken on a card at check in - not mentioned anywhere on the booking confirmation. Had we not arrived late and been staying only one night, we would have looked for alternative accommodation.

Clean room, friendly staff, comfortable bed, and excellent amenities. The staff was prompt to accommodate all requests. Overall well run establishment. Within walking distance to food, beach, and activities. Excellent price for the value. Highly recommend!

I thought it was a nice place! Easy to check in and the people were very nice. The room was clean and everything I needed. Breakfast was ok, most hotels do not offer anything more than that. We did not hear people next doors unless they slammed the door. I’d go again

Me and my son stayed here for two weeks. It is the cleanest hotel I’ve stayed in. The rooms were large and had a bigger TV than most other hotels. The paint was fresh and they were touching up all the walls while we were there. The shower looked to be brand new and had a great looking sliding glass door, instead of a shower curtain. There was also a large under the cabinet refrigerator that met all our needs for the 2 week stay. They also have many different types of rooms available. They have rooms with 3 queen beds and adjoining room with a large bed and couch. Would be great for a family with kids in one room and Mom and Dad in an adjoining room. There were small rooms for a single person and large rooms for more than 2. It was cold outside but they have a large swimming pool with lots of deck chairs and tables. The staff was really awesome. They handled every need we had, even moving us to another room when some people were being loud. They were always pleasant and easy to talk with. There are grocery stores and restaurants few blocks away. The beach is about a minute drive. This will always be my go to hotel. We had business in Wilmington but it was worth the extra 15 minute drive to get out of the hectic city and relaxe at this hotel.

I stayed at the Windstar for a week and generally had a very good stay. The rooms are large with comfortable beds, good aircon, excellent, large TV, refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, and a nice bathroom with a hot shower. Staff at the front desk and housekeeping are friendly and helpful. What could be improved are breakfast, which includes powdered eggs, and somewhat mushy potatoes and sausage patties, a pancake machine, cereal, yoghurt, and bread for toast. It’s okay for one day but gets monotonous. Housekeeping comes in every other day and provides new towels but does not make the bed or clean up the rest of the room. In seven days housekeeping only serviced my room twice. I would definitely recommend the hotel for a short stay as it is clean, bright, has a nice pool and is centrally located close to a Publix supermarket and restaurants. You can also walk to the center of town and beaches in about 10 minutes. They also have plenty of free parking.

We booked this hotel on a whim but glad that we did because it was a lovely place to stay. The foyer is spacious and modern and the rooms are comfortable and clean. There is also a small pool which is great to lounge around. The establishment is ideally situated in Carolina Beach close to the beach and Kure Beach. Wilmington is not too far away. Best of all were the staff who were so nice to us and our midweek stay was very reasonably priced.

This hotel is excellent and exceeded our expectations. It was clean, quiet and comfortable. The bed has a comfy mattress pad. The shower has good water pressure. The location is close enough to walk to the beach! Highly recommend a stay at this hotel.

My father died and my husband is very ill and has been diagnosed with a terminal illness. I was unable to make the trip. Well in advance of the cancellation period I contacted owner and explained my situation and asked if, under these extenuating circumstances, if I could be fully refunded. I received no compassion but rather the remark, “We don’t know when people are lying about stuff like this or not.” I made new reservations which I also will need to change due to extenuating circumstances due to my husband’s health. Since we have no idea what his life expectancy is it’s possible I could be rescheduling this trip well into next August. Meanwhile, my money is being held hostage. I read the contract, I have trip insurance, but this is extremely callous, poor customer service.
