This reservation was for a Thanksgiving stay to visit family. I grew up in Del Rio and the Ramada back in the day was the nicest hotel in town. I’m sorry to say it was absolutely disgusting during this stay. The sheets were dirty, there was hair all over the tub, some brown sludge on the toiletries (which we obviously did not dare touch), and there was something that looked like vomit underneath an outlet. I told the front desk about this, showed them pictures and requested they please clean the room while we were out for the day. Well, we returned and not much improvement. The vomit-looking spot was still there, the hairs were removed from the tub so that’s good, but it didn’t look like the bedding was changed. We went and requested new bedding so we could change the sheets ourselves and when housekeeping brought us the bedding she was very preoccupied on her phone like she couldn’t be bothered. Very disappointing experience, not worth what we paid, and won’t be back. The only reason it’s 2 stars and not 1 is because the front desk personnel was very nice and pleasant and tried to be helpful.

The Ramada is a Del Rio staple but is in dire need of modernization. It does the trick for a good place to rest, sleep, shower, grab a drink from the attached White Horse Lounge and get food at the attached Malinda restaurant. Expect no frills or a big wow factor.
