Food was wonderful at the wedding. Hotel was very clean and the grounds are breathtaking. Was a wonderful weekend.

As I mentioned in my earlier check-in review, they advertise for 11-4pm checkin but if you arrive earlier than 4pm you have to pay $25 or $50 in order to check in earlier!That is ridiculous! Plus their resort fee was $30 per day and it wasn’t worth what you get.
Their breakfast offers were only an overpriced buffet and no regular breakfast offerings, even though they had menus displayed to lead you to believe you had another option. They really need more to offer their clients. I will never stay there again! Having stayed in the past, it was truly disappointing.

Hair in sink,water stains on ceiling in bathroom,tub doesn't drain properly, molding under heat pulled away from wall. A terrible shame a beautiful historic hotel is not kept up. A $30 resort fee? No breakfast offered. Unless your looking to play golf,don't bother!

We’ve been going to the Gideon Putnam happily for a decade and this last visit was a sad portrait of the state of this place. Poor, shockingly indifferent staff if you can find them. Room was infested with bugs, and management barely seemed to care or respond to it in a professional manner. The park is lovely, the grounds worth visiting, do NOT book at the hotel- there’s dozens of options in the area I’d encourage you to find. We basically fled the place early. Terrible and disappointing in the extreme.

You could see clearly that the Gideon must have been a wonderful property in its prime. Unfortunately the rooms were stale, the bathrooms were worn and not very clean, the place needs a facelift. Staff was courteous.
