I was there for my sister's funeral who lived a block away. Since there were a lot of family going to be there, I chose this hotel as it was convenient, looked nice, close to grocery store, has a restaurant and bar and another family member had stayed there previously. When I returned from a long day, the room was nice, clean and comfortable

I wish to commend Area Hotel General Manager, Carlos Guzman, who sat at the front desk while his staff had called out sick. Carlos was very kind, courteous and curious about what brought us to the island, and when he learned of our nephew’s wedding and our unmet hope for 2 adjoining rooms to accommodate a daughter and grandchildren, he unsolicitedly upgraded our room to a 2 bedroom suite, which offered the five of us plenty of room and sufficient sleeping areas, as well as a full sized refrigerator and kitchen, to enjoy each other’s company throughout the wedding weekend.
Carlos Guzman was personable, fun and funny, and went over and above any expected level of service. He spoke highly of and with great loyalty toward his employer and engaged with us by sharing some of his knowledge of and experience with island life and the people who make the island livable. This young man has earned our praise and I believe, his company’s positive attention.

The bed was extremely comfortable and the room looked great. The only criticism was the shades did not work and would not lift up.

The property was clean and the staff was very nice. The rooms were spacious and nice. The location is great because it was in walking distance to a grocery store, restaurants, shopping, and public transportation. I would definitely stay at the Edgar Hotel again!

Convenient place with average amenities
Coukd have used a welcome folder with a map, nearby places to eat, and info about free buses. No suggestions about placex to see. Oh and no real patio area except at restaurant which was only open in evening. No pool.
