I’m very pleased with my stay here. Personnel is extremely kind and helpful. Breakfast could have some improvements. Good coffee and the lady in charge always with a good attitude and a smile.

The Russell is so convenient to Mississippi State University and the amenities were great. We will definitely stay at The Russell again!

I had an unfair charge to my bank account for a smoking fee which put my account into negative. I never smoked inside the room. You all went off a strong scent from clothing maybe left over. Im not sure

As I write this review I am in room 323 and it is 1:24am. The AC barely is hardly cool and the room is musty and dank. We booked two rooms (1 for us and 1 for our daughter and her family). We drove 4 hours to attend a wedding. Our daughter’s room (room 230) was filthy, carpet was wet and room smelled of mildew. No one was at the desk to report this to prior to the wedding we were attending. Upon returning from the wedding still no one was at the desk! Our daughter and her family drove 4 hrs home tonight! They didn’t want to risk their children getting sick from staying in that room. Later, the clerk returned but wouldn’t refund any money and offered no apology for the filth and inconvenience. We do not recommend this place at all! Most miserable night I’ve ever had in a hotel.

Nice large, clean room. Excellent breakfast. Staff was very friendly. Great location in a walkable neighborhood. Only a couple minutes drive to campus. Would stay here again.

This hotel is in a great location but it is not the cleanest and the room had a odor. The mattress had stains. I would not recommend staying here.

I have stayed at this facility multiple times before and have never been as displeased as I was this time. The front desk staff was polite and friendly as always. The first room we were assigned wreaked of dampness and mildew that was so strong that it gave me a headache. In addition the bathroom sink would not drain, there was trash in the trash can, cob webs on the walls and the mattress was absolutely filthy!! This does not even note the amount of dust EVERYWHERE! When we moved to next room we found trash on the floor and gnats in the bathroom. The cleaning staff at this hotel is deplorable. I wasn’t expecting 5 star accommodations but this place is absolutely filthy. The beds were EXTREMELY uncomfortable. I was unable to get more than 2-3 hours of sleep the entire night.

We traveled through here for vacation. Staff is very courteous and welcoming. Breakfast was perfect for our family. The salt water pool was great for relaxing and fun while we stayed. Anytime we are in Starkville, this is where we stay. Any requests were quickly accommodated. (extra towels, blankets, pillows, etc.)
