I was a little apprehensive when I arrived late one night in April. The reception was locked up and all the lights were off, and I was worried that I would not be able to get checked in. However, after a quick phone call a lovely gentleman turned up and checked me in with no fuss at all. The room was very basic, but the owners had clearly made an effort to decorate it nicely and it was kept very clean and in very good condition. In the morning I had an issue locking the door and again the office was closed. However, a quick phone call to a very friendly lady and the matter was resolved. I am happy to recommend this place to anybody needing to stop on a road trip, but do make sure you have your phone charged as you may need it to contact the staff.

We happened upon this motel on our Route 66 trip. This motel does not offer King beds so we had a room with 2 queens. Worked out fine. Decorated in Harley-Davidson items which added to the Mother Road theme. As I recall, the shower was quite small with a large threshold to step into. Also, no light in the bathroom. It is close to the road but surprisingly quiet.

Friendly, completely unpretentious, and fun. Comfortable room decked out in classic 50s vintage. A bit worn around the edges, but that just added to the overall vibe. The entire experience, from the moment I exited hwy 40 to Seligman to leaving the next morning, was like entering a time warp. Pretty good value for the price. Couple things: The WiFi is very slow and unreliable. It needs upgrading badly. The "mixer" valve in the shower needs to be replaced, I was alternately scalded and frozen. Also, the water pressure is so low that washing longer hair is impossible. While understanding that conservation of water in the SW is important, this much low pressure seems to be overkill. The towel rack and the shower head are clever designs, but if you are under 6'6" completely impractical and impossible to reach for some. A clever idea, but not well executed. The train noise could put off some guests, a warning on the webpage could be a good idea. It's not overly intrusive, but a light sleeper might have trouble. There isn't very much to do in the town, so this hotel is more of a stop on the way to somewhere rather than a destination. However, the local bar, The Black cat, had live music that was surprisingly good. Thank yous to the very friendly staff for letting me know! A suggestion? Put the fliers for music or other events in the rooms. Finally: there is no good coffee or tea in this town. Plan to bring your own.

The town is a museum in itself, and this motel is part of the charm. Easy to book online from UK and a straightforward check in process. Quirky room which importantly had a big fridge, decent shower and comfortable bed at a bargain price. Easy to walk back to the centre of town and you are certainly not going to have to worry about traffic! We sat on the chairs provided outside the room eating our dinner and watching the longest trains in the world go by. If you are on a road trip as we were this is the place to stay to get a taste of true old USA. We won't forget our stay in a hurry.
