For a Saturday night stay at Tulsa’s Quality Inn Downtown West, we arrived at the front desk at 6:30pm to check in. There was no one at the desk. After waiting 5 minutes a raised my voice towards the open doorway into the back office “Is anybody here?”. No one responded. After another 5 minutes I opened the “Employees Only” door and stepped inside to see if anyone was present. They were not. As I waited, another party of guests had arrived just as I had opened the “Employees only” door. They asked what was going on and I told them that I have been waiting for 10 minutes and there is no buzzer at the desk to summon anyone, so we just had to wait. I had prepaid on a “no refund” policy so I couldn’t just leave and find a different hotel. After 17 minutes a guy shows up from another area of the hotel. He apologized for the delay, but this is unacceptable. When we entered our room (#307) I was shocked to see that there was no Security latch on our metal door jamb. So the security and safety of our room was non-existent. As shown in the attached photos, this door has been kicked in multiple times as evidenced by multiple stripped out screw holes in the metal jamb and the metal door itself, even after relocating and resetting the latch hardware to a position above its original placement. How can hotel ownership be so oblivious and unconcerned about something so obvious. Makes me ask a very serious question as to why would this hotel have conditions of forced entry? In the dozens of hotels I have been in over the last 40 years, I have NEVER seen “breached” doors. Is it shady clientele or bad geographic location. Coupled with that, there was no “Do Not Disturb” door hanger to prevent staff from unexpectedly entering the room in the morning due to no security latch on the door. In addition there was another safety issue in the room. Where there was supposed to be a smoke alarm, the junction box on the ceiling, to which it was originally mounted, had bare wires dangling from the exposed junction box and no smoke alarm in place. Before going to bed I tried to set a desired sleeping temperature on the thermostat, but there was no visible digital reading on its screen. It was a blank solid gray, so we had to leave the room temperature control switch in the off position, not even knowing what the room temp setting actually would be if we switched it to heat or cool. Since the room temperature was comfortable enough when we went to bed, we did turn the fan to the constant “run” position to at least hide the loud freeway traffic a few short yards from the hotel. With the night time temp down to 40 degrees, at least the ambient room temperature when we went to bed simply re-circulated throughout the night at a tolerable level. Oddly, in the morning after the fan had run constantly all night, the digital display finally became visible, showing the room temp to be 75. I concede that this fault of the thermostat might not be easily noticed by housekeeping o

The absolute worst hotel room I’ve ever seen. The door did not have a lock, the deadbolt was removed and replaced with toilet paper. Hairs and stains all over the sheets. I immediately asked for a refund and was told “We can maybe get a lock on the door by this evening.” When I asked for a refund the manager said he sent it but Choice Hotels customer service verified it was never submitted. He is a liar. I’ll never get the $70 back, I had to go to a different hotel down the street. Stay away at all costs.

Pool empty and in serious need of repair. Room was clean and did not smell too bad. Hole in the bathroom sink. Plastered repair on walls. No concern for quality. Bed is a very old mattress that makes you feel that you are the meat in a taco.

We have stayed at many times in the past. Every time it keeps getting worse. Will not be back. First off when we checked in, we were informed that the hotel had been over booked and instead of 2 queens, we were moved into a king with a pullout couch. No linen was provided for the pullout bed. The hallways were freshly painted but seemed to be pained by a 4 year old. There was pain on the trim, on the outlets, the light switches and everything else that should have been taped off. Our room had a plastic bag taped over the fire extinguisher. The AC/Heat was super noisy. She shower was full of hair and had not been cleaned, to the point the shower would not drain until the hair was removed. The breakfast was supposed to be out until 930am, but at 845 when I came down stairs, the breakfast was already gone and had not been refilled. Several people came down after me to no breakfast. At the edge of the parking lot was a homeless camp with multiple people living there. Did not feel safe outside after dark. This used to be a nice place at a nice price. Now I would no recommend it at all.

On our first night, a bad storm hit the hotel which knocked the power out in the area. The afternoon of the second day, the hotel was still without power, so the hotel closed and kicked out all guests. We were told by the manager that they would refund the remaining night, once power was restored. Two months later, still no refund. When I call, the hotel.will only take a message. They never call back or answer emails. Even choice hotels hotline cannot do anything except send a "report", which does nothing. I'm not sure what the purpose is of this hotline. What a scam of a hotel.

The hotel is outdated. Lots of homeless people nearby. For instance, one is in the lobby. As i get some extra towel from the FD, he asked if he can do something for me so he can earn a free breakfast. (odd) My room is just sad. Lots of stain, not enough toiletries, needs a deep clean, dusty. Hallways feels like *******. I would book a different hotel.

Can you say ROACH motel? The 1st room my husband killed 3 cockroaches as soon as we walked in, dirty sheets & trash under the sink! We should’ve walked out but the night clerk was willing to put us in a different room. In this room the toilet seat was broken on one side, so we sat very careful. This hotel should be rated 1* at the most!

downsides: crumbs and dirt everywhere. cigarette smell in room and hallway. alcohol stains on every counter top in the room. holes and gaps everywhere. not worth the money. upsides: bed was comfy and no bugs.
