My wife & I cam to Hotel Don Fernando de Taos and found this beautiful hotel… it really fits the Taos lifestyle and it is beautiful, spacious room and the staff was really nice at check in…

This hotel is worn and appears not to have been refurbished for some time. Both rooms we were assigned were not properly cleaned--dirty towels left in the bathroom and a smear on the bedspread in one, a pile of sweepings behind the bathroom door in another.
To make matters worse, the hotel charges premium prices in line with luxury properties. This is NOT a luxury property. If you're expecting a Super 8 or Motel 6, you'll be satisfied. Otherwise, you'll be disappointed.

Internet was not fast. No smart tv. Had to step into the shower to turn it on which means you get hit first with freezing water. Overall, just okay.

I've stayed at Don Fernando before, and had a very pleasant time, which is why I returned for a few nights this September.
In my other stay, the bed had a comforter / duvet on it, which traps warmth as you sleep, so as your body temperature drops during sleep, you stay warm.
On this stay, the bed had only one thin blanket on it, which was not sufficient -- the weather in Taos goes down to the 40s F. at night by September.
I was going to ask for another blanket, but doubted that would help -- still too light for the weather. So I had to keep the heater on, which made the room too warm at times, and put extra bed pillows on and around me for warmth.
Last time I stayed at the hotel, the indoor pool was nicely heated. It didn't feel heated at all this time -- the water was cold.
The maid also didn't get to my room either day that I stayed there (I was there for two nights). I doubt this was her fault. This happened at another Hilton-owned hotel I stayed at over the summer. They clearly didn't have enough maids working for them.
These strike me as money-saving actions on the part of the hotel, which is a shame, because it discourages return stays.
The staff was very pleasant and helpful. But the things I mention above were a letdown.

Internet great. Grounds gravel. Staff tried to give us a room on the first floor on the highway and told us if we looked in it we would have to stay in it. We insisted on a better room which was available even though they said there were no other rooms available. She said she assumed we would want a first floor. Seemed agist.

床垫又旧又凹凸不平,而且不舒服。椅子又旧又变形,而且不舒服。真的,就像有人在垃圾日那天在路边捡到床垫和椅子,装上卡车,然后搬进酒店房间一样。我们想在这张床上睡一觉,结果又累又疼。房间很臭。淋浴排水不畅。我们整个入住期间,淋浴盆里都一直有水。灯罩上还有洞。虫子从门缝里爬进来。
庭院维护得很好,大堂也很漂亮。建议你先四处看看,然后再去住其他酒店。
我们以前滑雪旅行时住过这家酒店,房间宽敞,床也很舒服。这家酒店真的需要一些细心呵护。它相当陈旧,而且价格不菲。泳池里的氯含量太高,我们对此很敏感。如果公共区域能有遮阳就好了。
非常干净舒适。地理位置优越。房间和浴室都很大。我推荐这家酒店!
