After a week of reflection, I am writing to provide a comprehensive review of my recent stay at the Hyatt Hotel. While I appreciate the hotel’s historical charm, several issues significantly impacted my experience.
The hallway exhibited unevenness, indicating potential foundation issues. Additionally, the entry and bathroom doors were challenging to open due to a shift in the foundation. While these inconveniences were not insurmountable, they did detract from the overall comfort of the room.
The most concerning aspect of my stay was the behavior of Adam at check-in. We ordered 2 queen size bed room. When we arrived at the room, we discovered that the air conditioner was malfunctioning.
Upon returning downstairs, we were informed that the room had been overbooked, and the only available queen-sized bed was the one that had been assigned to us. This situation was frustrating, as it resulted in a significant inconvenience.
Furthermore, Adam admitted to being aware of one queen-sized bed with a broken air conditioner but was unable to identify which one. It was evident that he had assigned us the room that was the last available, which is unacceptable.
In conclusion, my family has decided to avoid Hyatt Hotels in the future due to this incident. We expect honesty and transparency from hotel staff, and we were deeply disappointed by the experience we had. .

Got Maintenance?
Room was run down. Bathroom door was chipping all along the bottom and would rub against the toilet when it was opened or closed. The curved shower rod was sagging and loose at the walls so the shower curtain would slide to the middle and water would fly out everywhere when showering. Room door had to be pulled hard before it would latch. TV remote was sticky and only worked half the time. Ice machines were not working. Place just needed to be maintained better and had areas throughout the property that seemed to just need a maintenance persons attention. Front desk staff was nice. Breakfast was decent.

Nice indoor pool, not heated but very nicely lit, very friendly staff, quiet even with a college soccer team there too. Will definitely stay there again.

The staff is new does not know much, dont greet guess. Room need renovations, restroom door does not close. Breakfast was good amd the location.

The hotel itself is a 5 star but the customer service is not up there. I booked a room with two queen beds since I was staying with my teenage son and dad. Upon my arrival the front desk clerk informed me that they over booked 12 rooms and that I was lucky to get the last room available. The only room available was a room with one bed. I'm glad I was able to get a room at all but not happy that it was not the room I originally booked. Over booking people is unprofessional and it shows how unorganized they are.

Just right hotel, very pleased.
Just what was needed for our short beach trip. Great location, room was a good size and had everything that we needed. Breakfast was good too! Will definitely come back.

Overcrowded and understaffed for the weekend
Staff is attentive and helpful, but I'm afraid they are clearly understaffed for the summer weekend crowds. I asked for a crib prior to booking with them, had their confirmation, I double checked one month prior to my stay, had their confirmation. I arrived 3pm sharp to my reservation that day... no crib available. Well, I wouldn't book there if they had told me that before. THEY ONLY HAVE ONE SINGLE CRIB FOR ALL THE GUESTS... un freaking believable haha they have like +100 rooms yet, one single crib, but they did not tell me this before booking, right? Good, hearty breakfasts. But again, overcrowded at all times during the weekend, not enough place to sit. Thursday everything worked... by Saturday: ice machines were not working, water machine either, only one elevator was up and running. I don't know how you build a +100 room hotel and just have enough personnel and equipment to run it at a 50% occupation. Special thanks to Valeria at the front desk who happily addressed our concerns and to the other guy at the front desk who recommended Whitecap Beach, had a blast, will never come back on a weekend but will gladly do if I ever visit Corpus during weekdays

The hotel was overbooked. The room I reserved with two queens beds was not available. I had to settle for one king bed and a pullout that had the worse “mattress.” It was more like a mattress topper so the metal bars were easily felt. It was extremely uncomfortable.

Do not stay here!
Lady at check in was rude and argumentative. Was gossiping about other staff. We felt like we were a nuisance to her. Watch at least 3 people leave and not check in because of her.

The staff was great. The room was very clean but we did see critters on 2 occasions. Usually this would be reason enough for me to relocate but everything was booked. The pool was good just sand at bottom as expected. Breakfast was good, but they had no microwave. Also, no microwave in the rooms but there was one by the ice maker. There was a hint of a smell, but there seemed to be alot of humidity. Honestly I was scared because I forgot to read reviews until later, but it was an okay stay.
