A lovely property with one big problem: the HVAC system emits a loud, high frequency droning noise that is inescapable on the second floor. Thankfully, the innkeeper was able to relocate us to the one bedroom available on the first floor, where we escaped the noise and had a good stay. The neighborhood is lovely, the location is convenient, breakfast was good, and street parking was easy to find.

Looking Glass Inn is a beautiful place! My husband and I and my two sisters with their husbands had a very enjoyable stay. We attended a wedding at Bottleneck Hotel and it was relaxing to spent time relaxing at the hotel.

Very nice overnight stay.
We had a delightful overnight stay. Our room, the Willow room, was both elegant and comfortable. Staff was very helpful and friendly. The cold buffet breakfast provided a nice start to the day.

I liked the room. It was spacious. I didn't have any hot water for my shower. In their guest book it said their was free popcorn and drinks. But the innkeeper said that's no more.

酒店回复: The entire house has hot water. As it is a very large home, you must let the water run a bit to get the hot flowing. It takes no time at all. We offer coffee and tea throughout the day. The popcorn was pre-Covid. We change things up from time to time.

I booked two nights as I was in town alone and it was recommended. I had to leave early as, despite being exhausted with jet lag, I only got about five hours sleep because the aircon generator was so loud during the night and didn’t switch off until 5pm. My room did not have its own aircon controls and was so freezing I had to have a hot shower and try to open the window but they didn’t open. I told the staff member and they didn’t tell me that they could close the vents. If I’d have known, I would have slept a little better. Another guest this morning said they also heard the aircon generator in the night and the staff member herself told me she thought it was loud at night and she lives in residence. Such a shame as I checked out early and found somewhere else. When I complained I wasn’t offered any compensation - they did re sell the room and only then was I able to get a refund minus 15% fee. No offer of waiving this fee and no offer of anything for the troubles. I am only here for four days from the UK and I have spent one of them exhausted and trying desperately to find somewhere else. Such a shame. The staff also run another local bnb and I think they just don’t have time for both.

For the price, it's probably underwhelming, but has its charms and downfalls. Cool old building, but lacks the comfort of modern convenience, such as air conditioning, good lighting, sturdy comfortable furniture, or plentiful outlets.
Emily was awesome, but the first desk manager we spoke to was less than helpful when we inquired about a fan for our 85-degree room, saying the weather was "cooling down" and they'd "look into it". Which they did not.
Again, cute place if you want history and are willing to sacrifice some comfort and convenience, and Emily was sweet.

The property was beautiful. A house that was built in 1805 it doesn't get any better then that. The Willow Room is the best....blue and positioned in the front of the house.

Friendly Innkeeper
The innkeeper was friendly and the property was nicely decorated. Breakfast was your standard continental. The flooring on the side entry is in need of replacement and I wished we had the mini fridge in our room because I forgot to go down the hall to retrieve my food from the mini fridge when I departed. Rooms were very today but sheets are scratchy.

We are always a phone call away and ready to help you get into a room that meets your needs. Safe travels!
