I had a pleasant stay from 30th December 2025 to 1st January 2026. The overall comfort and cleanliness of the hotel were very good. The housekeeping staff maintained the room neatly throughout my stay and were always prompt and courteous. Another highlight is the convenience of having two restaurants — A2B and Nikka Biryani — within the campus, offering a variety of delicious food options. It made dining easy and enjoyable without needing to step out. Overall, a comfortable and satisfying stay — I’d gladly recommend this place to others and consider staying again.

We stayed in an Executive Room on a triple occupancy basis for one night. Compared to the price I paid through Agoda, the return we got certainly exceeded our expectations. After fitting the extra cot, there was still sufficient space for three adults to move around. The Brihadeeswar temple is not very far off. But if you do not have your own car and want to visit the temple in the early morning, some kind of pre-arrangement to be made. On either side of the reception lobby, there are two restaurants - one veg and another non-veg. I guess both of them are owned by the same owner, although not connected to the hotel. These restaurants are frequented by many passing tourists and big groups. The parking is common and hence can become challenging in the evening. But once we told them that we had a booking in the hotel, the security people accommodated us. Still, during the night, the car remains parked in a kind of open space. Not a big problem, but if you have your own car and are planning to stay in the hotel, you need to take note of it. No other complaints as such. It suited our purpose of a night's stay.

Our two-day visit to Thanjavur was greatly enhanced by our stay at the Grand Ashok. Despite our last-minute reservation and initial concerns about cleanliness, room size, staff service, and security, the hotel exceeded our expectations in all these areas. The staff were fluent in Tamil, Hindi, and English, though we mostly communicated in Tamil, so we didn’t fully explore their other language skills. The breakfast offered a wide variety of options for Indian guests and a decent selection for international visitors. The staff were dedicated to ensuring customer satisfaction. Overall, it’s a fantastic hotel.

Property next to busy highway. Staff is so kind and friendly. Rooms are decent for the price. Next to this property are nice restaurants.

It’s worth the price. I love seeing local hotels that raise the quality bar.

Don’t come in with high expectations
Our stay was quite average, below the expectations we were looking for. We were charged additionally for breakfast when we initially had booked with that service. The staff does not take international cards and none of this is mentioned prior to checking in. The food was very mid, and not very good. Would not recommend.
The hotel is new so was quite clean and spacious room. Only thing would be to bring some warm clothes as the room gets quite cold with the AC on!
Overall was a underwhelming experience.

They do not except international credit cards yet they are listed with international vendors.
They were not willing to cancel my rooms and rebook paying thru *******. It was 10pm and we were exhausted so we paid in cash. No hand towels in room.
Less than 1/4 roll toilet paper. Overpriced at 8300 rupees. Room smelled like mildew. Not happy.
