Just returned from a girls weekend in Alicante . What a beautiful hotel this is . On arrival a couple of the rooms were ready so we could check in . Couldn’t believe the size of the suite and the bath in the window was an added luxury .so easy to walk to the centre . All of the staff were outstanding especially the lady at the restaurant Nuria .. an absolute gem .. we were treat like royalty and had the best time . Breakfast was another level … nothing at all could be faulted even cava and we had our own little vip area .highly recommend staying here

The breakfast and the snacks (ceasar salad...kinda... picture attached) we tried were disappointing. Both the variety and the quality need improvement. Javier (?) the front manager didn't let us check out late at 18h regardless their advertisement of late check out option. This way he traded off a satisfied actual guest to a non existing one he was still wanted to sell our room to (at 4 pm for the actual night...pfff). Probably worth the risk to have actual 70 EUR income for late check out and a satisfied guest than a 250 EUR income from a hoped but never came future guest...

So, in case we are fully booked, like we have been on your departure day, we can not offer the option until 18h. In your case my colleague already did an exception by letting you the room until 16h. Amazing all round! Had the sea view suite which overlooked the pool and gave incredible views of the sea and morning sunrise, staff very helpful and friendly. Rooms clean and incredibly comfortable (think I need to look into what pillows they have as I am not sure I can live without them now)

Currently staying here and cannot fault the room. We are staying in the premier junior suite and it's just beautiful with a marina view. However I have one complaint! The staff in the restaurant and bar are just miserable and so unorganised. We never get asked if we want coffee, never mind if we want anything off the menu! and as for getting. Ice it's like asking for a pot of gold! I even got refused one time. Very let down and has put us off even having a drink in the bar at night. On a positive note the housekeeping staff are excellent and always have a smile and a hello whenever we see them. Maybe they need to replace the bar and restaurant staff?

Just returned from a 7 day holiday at Suites Del Mar. We have visited this hotel many times and have always found the services facilities and the location excellent. However on our recent visit we were very disappointed with a few of the changes that have been made after the recent upgrade work completed at the first floor pool area. The smaller pool and sun bathing area is now not exclusive to Suites Del Mar guests and now feels crammed and is hard to get a sun lounger which meant we ended up going to the beach most days. The breakfast area that has been moved from the first floor where Suites Del Mar guests used to eat which has now been moved outside the dining area on the ground floor again does not feel exclusive even if there is a small menu on the table which allows you to order an omelet or the choice of another few items. Don’t think it was worth the extra cost for the room at Suites Del Mar when the equivalent room at Spa Porta Maris costs a lot less. It would have been nice to be informed about the changes prior to our visit this year .. JH
