I gave this hotel 1 star because that is the lowest rating available to give. It actually deserves 1/2 star only. Hotel President was a total rip off for the money they charged! Totally pathetic hotel, but 4-star prices for a room that is only 1-star quality. The ceiling was claustrophobically low that you could reach up and touch it. The a/c unit looked like a second-hand, used one and didn't even work properly. The room was so tiny for 3 beds, yet they stuffed three of us in there. Two beds didn't even have a side table because there was no space. The bathrooms were filthy - the toilet seat cover was moldy and did not even fit the seat, and there was not even a trash can in the bathroom. It was a suffocatingly lousy room. The free breakfast wasn't great either. Dense idli, and tasteless sambar, ***** with the usual pongal chutney vadai. Nothing particularly special for what they charged for the room. I am surprised people have been giving it high ratings. It was walking distance to the temple and stores, but we paid the price - all night-long we kept hearing ambulance sirens and traffic.

I booked this hotel for 25th and 26th December and had a very disappointing and unprofessional experience. In the morning, the booking team informed me that the tariff was ₹3,800 per night per room. Since I needed two rooms, the total came to ₹7,600. I confirmed the booking the same evening, and they again assured me of the same price. They even mentioned that they had spoken to their manager, who approved the rate. After this, I paid the advance and received the booking voucher, so everything was confirmed. But the next morning, I received a call saying the earlier price was “incorrect” and that the actual tariff was ₹5,600 per night due to peak season. When I questioned this sudden price change after confirmation, both the manager and the booking team kept saying sorry and blamed the booking staff, claiming he was “new.” However, this kind of behavior is completely unacceptable—especially when a booking has already been confirmed, approved, and paid for. Even more disappointing was the manager’s attitude. Instead of taking responsibility, he rudely said I should either cancel or accept the higher amount. No proper explanation, and no accountability. Because of this last-minute change, I had to cancel the booking, which also disrupted my other travel plans. This incident shows a clear lack of transparency and professionalism. It seems they can change prices anytime by blaming staff errors, leaving customers helpless during peak season. My honest advice: Please be cautious while booking this hotel, especially during busy periods. My experience felt unreliable and misleading. I hope others do not face the same inconvenience.

Horrible experience, it is 3.30pm and still the room is getting ready. No professionalism, very bad and worthless service. Had to sit and sleep in the non-AC waiting area.
