The grounds were nice. The staff were friendly. Room was dirty. Lobby bathroom did not have toilet paper or towels. We were bitten by bugs in the bed at night. We had a difficult time communicating with staff. The entire place was run down.

Manor House is a true treasure in Kandy, Sri Lanka. A beautiful blend of British, Dutch, and Sri Lankan architecture, this historical house (built in 1884) is now wonderfully run by Chitra and Kumar. From the moment we arrived, it felt like stepping into a palace, yet with such warmth that we immediately felt at home. The staff’s attention to detail was outstanding. We stayed in the oldest authentic room and enjoyed a fantastic traditional Sri Lankan breakfast in the garden full of trees and flowers. If you’re visiting Kandy, don’t miss the chance to experience this magical place — it’s more than just a stay, it’s history and heart in one. ❤️

This is a wonderful boutique hotel full of yesteryear charm from the beautiful colonial building with its antique furniture to the spacious landscaped gardens and the pristine cold water pool. Some distance from Kandy itself but easy enough to access there and all the tourist spots by tuk tuk with Lieyru the manger only to happy to assist with this.
