A Regenerative Retreat that Restored Mind, Body, and Perspective. Playa Viva is a regenerative paradise in every sense. It far exceeded what we expected. The experience blends comfort, nature, community, and wellness in a way that feels both intentional and effortless. • We stayed in “Private Villa”, which was spacious, comfortable, spotless, and beautifully designed. Each villa has its own unique architecture, built with local materials and a clear respect for the environment. • The beach is extraordinary. We have been fortunate to travel widely, but this is the the longest, most unoccupied stretch we have ever walked. I went out every sunrise and sunset, always feeling safe and completely immersed in the sound of waves and birds. It’s rare to find that kind of solitude anywhere in the world. • The food was exceptional. Farm to table cuisine at its finest. Fresh produce from the nearby farm (a must‑visit) made every meal vibrant and nourishing. The menu offered a thoughtful variety of vegetables, pulses, fish, pork, chicken, beef, all without heavy fillers. Clean eating at its best. • The staff were warm, friendly, and knowledgeable, creating a sense of ease from the moment we arrived. ** Very important to check out the connection with the local community through a program called Resimar. How the land, watershed, forest and education should be preserved. • The holistic hosts made the stay truly special. We were fortunate to be there with Alok and Anjuli. My wife enjoyed yoga daily, and I joined many classes…each one grounding, energizing, and memorable. • Off‑site activities are available (I went diving), but honestly, there was no real need to leave the property. Everything you need to reset is right there. • One of the most powerful parts of the stay was disconnecting. I kept my cell provider off the entire time, using Wi‑Fi only to check in with family. Stepping away from news and media for 10 days was a reset we all could use with the noise out there. • The combination of waves, birds, ocean breeze, yoga, massages, healthy food, and the knowledge that local communities are connected to the food system created a sense of balance and purpose that stayed with us long after we left. Playa Viva is more than a vacation. It’s a chance to restore your body, clear your mind, and reconnect with what matters. It is also an opportunity to see what a true Environmentally Responsible Resort can be! Thank you, Playa Viva, for an exceptional and inspiring stay.

I visited this resort expecting a sustainable and socially responsible experience, but unfortunately, it did not fully meet those expectations. The turtle conservation programs seemed to rely heavily on volunteers, without supervision from qualified biologists. Some hatchlings appeared to be in poor health, and it’s unclear whether the resort has the necessary permits for handling marine turtles. I was also concerned about labor practices. Some staff seemed to be paid very low wages, and the registration status of certain foreign workers was not transparent. Volunteers were performing essential tasks without compensation, and the local community didn’t appear to be benefiting significantly from the resort's presence. Additionally, the construction seemed to impact the beach dunes, and there was no visible information about environmental permits. Although Playa Viva promotes itself as an eco-friendly and socially responsible destination, in my experience, it felt more like a marketing strategy than a fully implemented mission. I recommend that future visitors ask questions, observe carefully, and consider supporting projects or accommodations with verified environmental and social responsibility.

酒店回复: Miss T, thanks for your review. You review is "sus" as the kids say. 1) you have only written 1 review. 2) We are closed in Aug to guests, so did you really stay at the hotel. 3) you are stating opinions without any real proof, just conjecture 4) you state nothing about your actual stay at the hotel - the rooms, the food, the experience but rather focus on "greenwashing", etc. Yes, we encourage our guests to do as you suggest, "ask questions, observe carefully" as we are fully transparent about our B-Corp Certification, ReSiMar and our work with the local watershed and fully transparent about our volunteer programs (and how we support those volunteers both from the local community and those who visit) and everything else we do. Miss T (misst390), come visit us and share your concerns with us as we are happy to share all we do. TripAdvisor, I do hope you look into this review and its validity. Thank you, David

We go to Playa Viva for lunch and dinner several times a year. We always make it a point to dine at Playa Viva because the food is some of the best on the beach in Mexico. Fresh locally grown and raised by the staff and the chef knows exactly how to bring out the best. Playa Viva is a magical one of a kind place. We went for New Years Eve dinner (fully booked) and lunch a couple days later after most of the guests had left.

This place is the place to go to disconnect and reconnect with yourself and the planet. The place is so beautiful, the food is fresh and delicious, and the owner and staff are so helpful and treat you like family. The farm is amazing - learn about regenerative farming. We enjoyed learning about all the ways to use the palm trees. as well as visiting the pigs and tasting the hibiscus. Don't miss what you can do to help turtles! In the evenings, you can participate in the group walk on the beach where you can help look for turtle eggs and protect them from predators. In the morning, you can release baby turtles and visit the education center of the turtle sanctuary and learn everything about turtles. The morning yoga and massages are so relaxing. The treehouses are beautifully designed with local materials and inspired by nature. Tip: Around dusk, put on mosquito repellent and change into long pants and long sleeve shirt. Thank you David, Julia, Jose and Fernando! I can't wait to come back!

I don’t usually complain on the spot , because I don’t want to create any problems to people that work and make their best, but I rather observe and then give my personal feedback afterwards. The place has a general good vibes and the projects which they are involved in are very admirable, even if I reckon all is not how they present it, however overall it’s a good and impressive idea. For me and my partner, the real big problem was the food poisoning, which I am still recovering from, due to the terrible hygiene of the kitchen in general, during my stay there were a lot of people and guests accusing of vomiting and not feeling well in the stomach. It’s not the water ( as told ), which I paid attention to, during my stay, but the biggest problem was the food which is not well preserved in such a heat weather. I recommend that more attention should be paid. I definitely believe in organic and sustainable food as well as good hygiene, which would be much appreciated for a luxury eco resort as yours. The rest is ok. Hope this will help for future guests and we wish you to continue with the original idea not contaminated by the money focus. Thanks

Dear customer, I am sorry that your experience with us has not been entirely pleasant and I am very sorry that you felt sick. We will take your recommendation into account, hoping that this situation does not happen again. I hope that you keep in your memory the things that you did like. Thank you for your comment, your opinion is very valuable to us, that is what helps us to improve our service. Let me add, as the Operating Manager, that we take food safety and hygiene very seriously. We are very sorry about your negative experience around food and any illness that might have resulted. Your comment was shared with our entire staff. The head chef responded by setting up additional food hygiene trainings for our kitchen team. He also is working with our food sourcing and supply chain to dive deeper into their hygiene and food safety programs. Overall, we are redoubling our efforts to continue to bring our guests a safe, secure, clean and healthy experience. Thank you for taking time to write this review and we appreciate your overall positive response despite the bad food experience. We can only improve when we know from our guests what we need to do to improve. Thank you and we are sorry about the problems we caused you.
