the entry way into the hotel smelled terrible. the carpet in the hallways was dirty. our shoes stuck to the area of hard floor in our room. I could feel a hard ridge down the middle of my bed; did not dare sleep close to one side or I would have rolled off. I always stay at Holiday Inn Express hotels but after this stay I will think twice about that.

Besides the dirty sheets on the bed, we felt the facility was clean. The pool and hot tub were nice. Breakfast was great with many options that were dairy free.

Nice rooms and breakfast was pretty descent (as they go in settings like this) but the entrance had a terrible smell that got worse, one of the staff members was rude, and there were several boarded up buildings in the immediate vicinity.

The check in area was in good shape and the staff was super friendly. The pool area was average to good. However, when it came to the quality of the room, this property failed horribly. The tile floor in the entry and bathroom was cracked and falling apart. The orange carpet gave it an old, dirty feeling. There was a place on the bathroom wall where something had previously hung with fading and wall studs still present. The lack of electronic plug ins for a “high” quality hotel was lacking. The bathroom fan continually stayed “on” and the sensor light flickered. You could tell around the bathroom fan that in the past something had gone on with brown spots, water perhaps. It just felt like the room given was the last, run down room in the hotel. For the price paid, and Holiday Inn’s reputation, I really expected more and was disappointed.
