The room I was assigned to was in the main building up a flight of stairs. It was quite small with a small double bed and a table and chair. The bathroom was also small and the shower had no holder so I had to hold it to wash. Apart from a soap dispenser in the shower and by the sink there are no other amenities. In the bedroom if you charged anything the light switch would turn off. On the plus side there is a kettle and tea bags and you can get a small jug of milk from the dining room in a separate building. You can fill the kettle downstairs from a water tank where the luggage is stored. The room was spotlessly clean. It is quiet at night. There’s a restaurant through the carpark which is pleasant inside and outside. Food is average if eating the pilgrims menu. I had a pleasant stay but it wouldn’t hurt for the receptionist to smile. She was efficient and helped me with my luggage. There are bungalows in the grounds and a swimming pool which is pleasant and the sound of a fountain is pleasant while you eat.

This was our favourite stop on the Northern Camino. It was glorious, honestly. Rooms were massive, loads of space, comfortable beds, basic toiletries provided, the grounds are so well maintained and there's a pool which one of us used. Filtered water point for filling bottles (should be a staple for all stays). The onsite restaurant was gorgeous. We had an amazing dinner (possibly the best cheese cake I've ever eaten) and a super breakfast (worth opting for the buffet as there was loads on offer). Only downside is the guy was calling us when we were struggling on the last 2km so was a bit stressful as we were worried he was going to leave.

Our stay was booked through our tour operator as we walked from Sarria to Santiago. Our room was in one of the apartment suites, so it was roomy and comfortable. The restaurant, however, had very slow service in the afternoon when we were looking forward to a warm drink and snack. It appeared to ignore our table yet served locals coming in for a drink. Our food was okay for dinner and breakfast (included) but all around, service seemed secondary to contributing to a pleasant stay.
