Property was being closed immediately after our stay for much-needed updating unbeknownst to us. Dining options were limited at the time we were there and food available was sub-par and we were often unwell after eating. Staff was super friendly, however, and we enjoyed their hospitality. The spa was amazing for our massages/facial, and bar staff at the pool was exceptional.

During our stay we had a DND sign on our door and still someone entered and stole $250 from us on 2 separate occasions. The music at 9pm below us was so loud, we had long days from excursions and couldn’t sleep. Not all dining was open because they were closing the hotel for renovations. Also so dirty, beach was horrible. Food horrific. Front desk did nothing about our cash being stolen.

This was the most dissappointed my family has been with any all-inclusive resort we have ever been to. The resort was very old and worn down, dirty and staff was rude. We noticed that the hotel was closing some of their restaurants each night, so we asked the staff. Without knowing, the hotel was closing for 6 months for renovations. As we were eating or using the pool or watching nightly shows, staff was literally taking the hotel apart. Fixtures were being taken off the walls, construction was being done, restaurants closing. Our a/c barely worked in our room and when asked if we could change rooms, we were told "no" without consideration of even trying or even an apology. Staff is very rude and resort grounds always seemed dirty/unkept. I would never recommend this resort to family or friends

Nice hotel, good food options and facilities.
Restocking the mini bar (water) occured sporadically and the glasses were potentially never cleaned.
Theres only soap in the bathroom, no shampoo/conditioner/moisturiser in the bathrooms (4 stars?)
Unpleasant aroma outside at certain times of the day (dodgy plumbing)
The process of booking a restaurant (que 30 minutes in advance and hope theres a seat) is dire.
I would however, go back. It was nice, and reasonable value for money.

Property was nice but very very noisy in the evening with loud music. Food wasn’t terrible and not great. It was average and a lot of options, fine for us. Rooms were very dated but also very clean. Beach was wonderful and pools were nice. Resort needs a facelift but we enjoyed ourselves.

First time to costa rica and staying here was perfect!! The am buffet isn’t the best but it’s free! We munched on waffles :P Overall great stay and look forward to other stays at the rui!

Vacation exceeded our expectations.
Staff were friendly and helpful.
Room was very clean and comfortable. Lots of food options, quality of food was excellent. Multiple areas on site to spend you time from the beach multiple pools, and waterslides.
Will definitely book a RIU hotel vacation again.

The resort was run down our tub leaked and the sink was cracked. I paid for ocean view, but the balcony had a solid wall so sitting on the balcony the view was a wall. I didn't like that you couldn't make reservations for the restaurants and had to be there 30 minutes before opening to stand in line.
The food was good in all the restaurants and the buffets.
The staff was friendly, and our room was always cleaned in a timely manner. The bars were staffed appropriately, so getting a drink didn't take to long. I heard it is getting renovated, so that is good since it is in desperate need

The beach is great and the opportunity to see a family of white-faced monkeys down the beach was fantastic. The buffets had many options to choose from.
It was very hard to get into a restaurant - even when we arrived early, it was already booked up so we had to go with the buffet each time. There is no option to make reservations either.
The rooms were in pretty good shape. Overall, it was quite busy and loud but that's to be expected with this type of all inclusive resort.
