What a marvellous experience. An amazing location, and everyone there made sure that we were very well looked after. It was a privilege to be driven around amongst such spectacular scenery, and feeling that you were almost the only people there. This was a change from our normal trips, exchanging game drives for scenic drives. It surpassed expectations. And it was educational, learning about the way the Himba people live, and being able to talk with them in a most unexpected manner. We were not expecting to be asked why our skin was white, or be questioned on contraception, but everyone was so interested in our answers. They also enjoyed seeing photos of our family, and seeing the photos that we took of them. The lodge is due to be refurbished next year. I would love to go back and see the new version, but would also happily go back to the current one. After four nights we felt that we had made new friends and eaten especially well. Thank you everyone at the lodge for looking after us so well.
