HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT!!
The breakfast food was cold ,
Coffee terrible!
Check in was not friendly or helpful
There was NO Parking anywhere in the lot, finally after driving around for 10 minutes a spaced opened up, we took it.
Only to find out the next morning, that it wasn’t a space that hotel patrons can use? It was in the same lot, it was dark and not well lit.
Apparently it was not a parking space for hotel patrons?
Our car got towed!!!
It cost $ 200 to get our car back!!
The hotel was no help at all and did not apologize or care!!
We are very disgusted and will never stay at the HOLIDAY INN EXPRESS NH

While we do everything we can to guide guests to the correct parking areas, towing decisions in that section of the lot are made independently by the student housing authority, not the hotel. The room was reasonably quiet after we unplugged the fridge and turned off the heater... blackout blinds worked well... bed was excellent. Bathroom and shower were not above average. Breakfast was fine for most people. We needed low-carb options (zero sugar yogurt). The eggs and coffee were good (for us). I would have turned off the TV noise in the breakfast area and used captions for those that needed the info. Staff were professional, helpful, perfect. The location is great for walking to restaurants in Durham. Parking was free and convenient.

The air conditioning unit was loud, inefficient, and difficult to use. Also we were on the first floor and at 5:30 am a tour pulled up directly outside our window to prepare for the day. For the next 2 hours, the driver worked in the bus. I understand this is not the hotel’s fault, but that coupled with the terrible ac unit that beeped half the night, very little sleep happened.

Clean room, amenities…no unnecessary frills..generally helpful staff.
