Second Stay - Some Highs, Some Lows
We travel in groups, so it isn't easy to find a resort that offers something for everyone. This was our second visit to Family Selection at Grand Palladium Costa Mujeres—last year was fantastic & we returned hoping for the same experience. While many things were still great, this stay had a few hiccups.
As always, Rafa nadal tennis coaches (Hugo & Francisco) were fantastic and their team was organized when it came to lessons and court bookings. Rooms were clean and beds comfortable. Housekeeping was flexible with timing & kept the room well-stocked.
Lows:
Issues at check-in as our ******* Gold VIP Access benefits weren't recognized until we escalated. Last time we were warmly greeted with an instant upgrade and a surprise dessert tray on our final meal. We finally got it sorted out but it makes us question if future stays will be as difficult. Black+White flooded & our kids were disappointed there were no alternative teen activities/venues all week. Shuttles seemed reduced, skipping stops & hard to rely on.
Highs:
Butlers Luis/Cesar were excellent and truly redeemed the experience for us. Great service at the mexican restaurant and teppanyaki grill. We were able to enjoy the TRS options this time - La Boheme being our favourite for food and service. Poolside service was solid, and when one of us got sick, the on-site doctor was helpful.
Tips for future travellers: BYO bug spray & OTC meds. Gift shop charges $36 USD for tylenol.

This resort is gorgeous, along with great staff and amenities. The property is quite large, but they provide plenty of easy transportation around to save you from all the walking.

Beautiful resort, excellent service everywhere you go. Very clean and safe. Food options at the pool were just okay. Reservations at restaurants need to be made at check in or else you may not land a seat. Important to note: this resort is large and in order to get around, you will need to take golf carts. Walking is not impossible but with the heat and little kids, golf carts were the way to get around. Sometimes they come quick and sometimes there is a bit of a wait.
Wish we were given a map at check in so we know where everything is at. We got by with asking a lot of questions and knowing general areas of where we wanted to go. The butler service was great. They are fast; attentive and really try their best to meet your needs. No request is too odd!
Javier the resort manager met us and ensured our needs were taken care of. Great service!
Overall would recommend this resort.

Frida and Emanuel our Butler were amazing. The last night we were there they set up a bubble bath for my kids. The Nest restaurant was our favorite! They cook food right in front of you. The beach is a little far out especially for guests not staying on the Family side. The carts can be a little more frequent and should have a bell specially for night. The boat could also run a little more frequent.

The staff was nice anywhere we went: pool, restaurants, shoppes. Check in/out was pretty quick with no issues. We stayed at the family selection section. Rooms were decent. Not fancy but had all the necessities. These rooms came with a personal butler but honestly the butler was not useful. We’ve asked for a few things such as extra blanket and extra supplies for coffee they were not provided. The resort is beautiful but everything is spread out too far. It’s either you have to walk a mile to get to a coffee shop or restaurants or have to wait for a transport cart. During morning and dinner time, wait time can be 10-15 minutes., so by that time it’s quicker to walk. The pools were clean and nice. The beach area was nice and clean.

不知道他们为什么不一次性关闭一层楼进行装修。在我们整个旅行期间，他们都在粉刷墙壁并进行装修。整层楼都有油漆味。我们分成 4 个不同的组进行预订，每个人的体验都不同。我们住在家庭精选的 11 号楼，而我们的朋友住在 12 号楼。12 号楼没有任何装修，而且他们的住宿条件要好得多。他们一到就得到了高档伏特加和香槟，还有饼干、零食和各种包/沙滩包和儿童玩具。我们入住时没有收到孩子们的沙滩玩具，也没有零食，只有 2 个空袋子，其中一个显然是用过的，上面完全沾满了污渍。总的来说，我们对在这个度假村的住宿不太满意，我们住在他们在玛雅的姐妹公司，体验好得多。
