We’ve just returned from a 5-night stay at the Caybeach Papagayo complex and had a wonderful experience. We booked a two-bedroom apartment and were pleasantly surprised by how spacious it was upon arrival. Check-in was smooth and welcoming, with lovely reception staff who made us feel right at home. Our ground-floor apartment was generously sized, featuring a comfortable outdoor seating area with two sun loungers. While the interiors were simple and slightly dated, everything was clean, well-maintained, and fully equipped for a self-catering holiday. The beds were very comfortable—we slept soundly each night without any issues. The bathrooms were convenient, each with a powerful shower over a bath, which was especially helpful with a young child. The air conditioning worked brilliantly throughout our stay, keeping the apartment cool without any problems. The pool area was peaceful and relaxing, even during peak season. We never had to worry about reserving sunbeds, which was a real bonus. We did request a late check-out, but unfortunately, it couldn’t be accommodated as the apartment was already booked for incoming guests. Still, this didn’t take away from our overall experience. Caybeach Papagayo is a lovely, no-frills complex in a quiet location—simple, but more than enough for a relaxing break. The only small downside was transportation in the evenings; taxis were difficult to get and the wait times were often longer than the bus ride itself. That said, the local bus runs every 30 minutes from right outside the complex and was extremely reliable, so I’d definitely recommend using it to get around, especially to Playa Blanca. We wouldn’t hesitate to return and would absolutely recommend this complex to others looking for a peaceful, self-catering getaway.
