We recently stayed at Premier Inn Yeovil, our third stay at this particular hotel. The accommodation itself was consistent with our previous visits – clean, comfortable and exactly what we expect from Premier Inn, both for leisure and business stays across the country. On this occasion, however, we took advantage of the breakfast promotion where kids eat free, and unfortunately the breakfast experience over the three mornings of our stay was extremely disappointing. We were informed that due to “unforeseen circumstances” there were no fried or poached eggs available – only scrambled (which appeared to be microwaved) and fried eggs. More significantly, the advertised “unlimited buffet” – still promoted on posters throughout the hotel – was no longer operating as a buffet. Instead, it had switched to table service. Wait times exceeded one hour on each morning. When food did eventually arrive, orders were inaccurate on all three days, with items missing or incorrect on three out of the five plates in our party. This happened repeatedly. The continental buffet area was also poorly maintained, with most bread, pastries and fruit juices either depleted or completely empty. Refills did appear occasionally, but in such small quantities that they couldn’t meet the demand – even though the restaurant was relatively quiet, with only around 16–20 diners in a space that seats over 60. Given that this was a promotional offer, the experience certainly did not encourage us to commit to Premier Inn breakfasts in the future. We visit Yeovil several times a year and have generally been happy to stay here, but based on this experience we will be reluctant to stay again – or at the very least, to book breakfast at this hotel.

Tatty and badly maintained, uncomfortable beds, creaking floors and lots of noise from other rooms (guests moving normally, nothing bad but could here every movement) Bathroom mouldy and toilet flush was intermittent. Unbearably hot and air con inefficient Restaurant open on first night then unexpectedly closed due to staff shortages. The restaurant is an example of whitbread not getting its audience. The restaurant is huge, a former beefeater that was never busy. I have stayed here many times and seen it slide into mediocrity. The best thing: the staff. Clearly dispirited they still did their best.

I wish I had checked the reviews before we went for breakfast as we should have gone to Wetherspoons instead. We didn't book but on arrival we were told they had a lot of bookings earlier so opted for a continental breakfast. What a mistake that was as the cereal, fruit and yoghurt were almost empty and it took an hour before they were replenished. We had to ask for decaf coffee as none was available at the coffee machine. Soya milk had to be asked for as it was not readily available. We had to ask for plates, replenishment of bread, croissants and crumpets. Only 1 toaster was available which meant long queues and waiting to use it, Staff were uninterested and disorganised. The only good thing was the room. Very clean and can't be faulted

Premier inn was a fab place to stay, good clean room and had a lovely night's sleep. However the breakfast the next morning however was the worst breakfast experience, the staff were not prepared for a table of 13 despite it being booked in advance, we were sat on 2 separate tables which we then had to ask to be next to eachother. We then waited for about 15 mins for someone to take our order after having to ask them to do so then it was another 5 before they actually came over and when they did the children were greeted with 'what do you want then' Food then took forever to come out and when it did nearly every plate had something missing, when we asked about missing items we were told theres no bacon left but we were not informed in advance, so no opportunity to exchange with something else. My husband had to ask for his beans and black pudding only to be told the kitchen was now closed despite us arriving 1 hour earlier. We had to ask for bread, granola and pastries to be restocked as it was all empty when we arrived and the staff seemed quite reluctant to do so when these requests were made. It was supposed to be a nice start to my daughter birthday but instead it was a total shambles and an experience we want to forget. All toilets were out of hand soap as well. Overall not a happy experience.

Food and staff in the restaurant were terrible. We arrived and there wasn't a table big enough even though we had pre booked and they said it was fine. It took around 25 mins to take our order by a rude member if staff. Once the food eventually came we were not even told they had ran out of bacon and black pudding. The hash browns were cold and beans were missing from half our plates. When questioned we were told the kitchen was now closed. Despite us booking for 10am as requested by the staff the day before. Do not eat here go somewhere else.
