Great stay, staff are amazing really friendly and nice easy checkin. The location was great for where we needed to be over our stay, not too far from local town either. Rooms were sufficient, had everything we needed with extra tea etc. in reception area free to take. Room was also clean and tidy considering the building is a bit dated. If you are a light sleeper or do not bode well with noise I would call in advance and request a room at the back of the hotel, as it is positioned next to a services however, I don’t think there was a noise issue at all. Overall a great stay.

The total experience was very pleasant, from the clean room, friendly staff, easy parking and location. This is one of the top Travel Lodges I've stayed at.

We have stayed in a large number of Travelodge hotels across the UK, and I fully appreciate that it would not be fair to judge the brand as a whole based on one location, as standards can vary depending on local management and staff. Unfortunately, our experience at the Hellingly Travelodge did not meet the standard we are used to. The room was not cleaned to an acceptable level: there was dust behind the bathroom door, spider webs around the windows and behind the curtains, and visible stains on the carpet. During our stay, we left the “please clean my room” hanger on the door and also spoke to reception to request housekeeping. Despite being reassured that this would be done, no cleaning took place. At the very least, we would have expected the room to be hoovered, beds made, and towels replaced. Instead, our used wet towels were left on the floor for three nights and nothing was attended to. This was particularly disappointing as we were travelling with two dogs and cleanliness was especially important to us. In addition, one section of the ground floor was heavily affected by cigarette smoke. Although the receptionist placed notices on doors in that area, the smell persisted and travelled throughout the ground floor. I do not enjoy leaving negative feedback, but this experience fell below what we consider acceptable. That said, we will continue to use Travelodge in the future, as we believe these issues can be addressed through improved management oversight and staff guidance.

We recently stayed at the Travelodge Hellingly Eastbourne while visiting family and friends. We have stayed in many properties run by Travelodge UK over the years, so we arrived expecting the usual basic but clean and comfortable experience. Unfortunately, this was not the case. Check-in was smooth and straightforward. However, as soon as we entered the room there was an unpleasant smell — possibly stale smoke or dust from the heating. As we looked around, it became clear the room had not been properly cleaned or checked before our arrival. Issues included: At least seven cobwebs around the ceiling and corners, heavily coated in dust Additional cobwebs behind the chair Leftover snacks and used milk/coffee sachets Dust and debris on top of the wardrobe area A visible coffee stain A kettle covered in dust with old water left inside (we chose not to use it) My husband stepping on a toenail while walking in socks — clearly missed during vacuuming The main light switch by the entrance not working A faulty USB charging port that would not hold a cable Plug sockets positioned so low that plugs bent awkwardly Although the bed linen and bathroom were clean enough (albeit dated and bathroom stained), had they not been, we would have left immediately. I raised the cleanliness concerns with reception and I requested a duster to remove the cobwebs myself. There was no apology and no offer to move rooms, which was disappointing. To their credit, after we complained, Travelodge responded promptly and offered a £30 refund as a gesture of goodwill, which we do appreciate. However, the overall condition of the room felt as though it had not been used or properly inspected for some time. This was, unfortunately, the poorest Travelodge experience we have had. Until cleaning standards improve at this location, we would not stay here again or recommend it to others.

Arrived at the lodge after a five-- hour drive and was pleased to find plenty of parking spaces available. We were welcomed by a pleasant young lady who confirmed our booking, gave us our room key and explained the procedure to register for the car parking. Our room was warm and clean, and the bathroom was clean with basic requirements and plenty of hot water. A good night's sleep in a comfortable, clean bed. What more can you want for forty- three- pounds. We checked out the following morning, refreshed for the day ahead.

We needed an accessible room on the ground floor, as they have no lift. My partner is very unsteady on her feet and fell in the bath attempting to have a shower. The bath had no anti slip mat or grab rail to hold onto while using the shower. The bathroom floor does not have anti slip flooring. The room has no net curtain so if you opened the curtains you look straight out at rhe car park and guests walking backwards and forwards can see into the room. Admittedly the room was cheap, however personal safety and privacy should be a fundamental provision in all rooms.

Easy to find and super convenient for the next day. However, the noise was absolutely horrendous all night. This lodge is located right next to a petrol garage and a main road with no trees or bushes to even try and hide the noise. Even with vents closed, it still sounds like there’s no window. The picture I saw of this hotel also included a breakfast drink setup….. I can tell you there is nothing with the hotel but Starbucks and Greggs is just outside next to the petrol garage. So for all those without food allergies and need your morning go go juice, your all good.

Always clean, quiet and with friendly staff. I’ve stayed at many of the Travelodges in the south, and Hellingly is by far the best I’ve stayed at. The staff are always friendly and helpful, and the rooms are always immaculate. The rooms are also extremely good value. Highly recommended.
