This hotel desperately needs some love poured into it. It's one of the worst Premier Inns I've stayed at (usually they are great value for money). There is no atmosphere, the corridors smell of cigarette smoke (some of our family could smell strong cigarette smoke in their rooms too), and the rooms need upgraded. Our bed was uncomfortable and the pillows were flat. The bathroom smelled of damp even though it was clean but the smell was off putting. No air conditioning in the rooms which was fine because we stayed in December but I can imagine in the summer those rooms being unbearable. The vending machines in the foyer didn't work when we were there, the service in adjoining Brewer's Fayre left a lot to be desired (the lady behind the bar was miserable, terrible service that made us feel uncomfortable). Despite its flaws the stay itself was fine but I don't think I'd stay there again for the money paid.

Handy location, rooms are fine, feel overall is tired and shabby. Make sure you don't use the Brewers Fayre though, very poor food and service is comically bad.

Average Premier Inn, but the attached bar doesn’t align with the advertised opening hours. This is such a simple thing that they have full control over, so a very lazy thing not to do that creates an inconvenience for visitors. Also doesn’t go down well when smugly told by the hotel staff that the bar has just closed.

You know me, only review if it’s really good or really bad…The hotel is ok, acceptable. The hotel staff, particularly Monica, makes this place great. When we came in, another guest was being very grumpy and somewhat aggressive with her, she did her very best to help him, remaining courteous and pleasant the whole time. She helped get us a room closer to the entrance without being asked as she noticed my mobility problems, always cheerful and smiling, recommended places to eat locally... Staff like this, who are really good at their job and really care about customer experience, are few and far between. Premier Inn, keep this lady, give her a pay rise, SHE makes your hotel somewhere people want to come!

My colleague and I stayed due to going to Ladies Day at Pontefract races in early August. we had a meal in the evening. The staff at the hotel were really friendly. A shout out to Sarah H who was so helpful regarding any questions from taxis to car parking, the wine and more. thank you

Good price, comfortable bed and friendly staff. Food was ok, not great but as expected. Shower was not clean enough and the hotel corridors smell of teenage bedrooms

Staff were very friendly and welcoming. There’s a huge indoor kids play area at the restaurant that looked brilliant although we didn’t get a chance to try it out as it was closing. Very peaceful evening and a good nights rest. Wasn’t keen on the breakfast as way to salty for my taste and not worth the price in my opinion but the dinner was enjoyable
