Polegate Premier Inn Eastbourne. The staff were friendly and helpful in a somewhat unusual situation. As there is a massive building upgrade going on now and when we stayed. No proper food restaurant, nor bar facilities. The minimal efforts made did not really fill the gap for the loss of service to the hotel residents during our stay, so other external venues were frequented by my wife and I. Our checkout was straight forward. Pack cases check room for personal items and drop electronic key at the reception desk. Other than this excitement our stay was pretty average as usual for Premier Inn. Bit lack-lustre and ordinary satisfactory bed, heating and quiet.

We chose this location as we needed to attend a family function north of Eastbourne. We knew in advance that eating out options would be limited without having to drive (which we didn't want to do, on top of ＞150 miles to get there). We were also warned that building work was in progress. This only affected us insofar as the car park was somewhat restricted but still space available. The room was fine and the staff were very friendly, welcoming, and helpful. We ate in on our first evening and although the menu is limited, the food was cooked and presented very well. Breakfast was the usual fare and also well prepared. Our only issue was that the wash basin plug in our bathroom jammed closed. Although it was attended to whilst we were out during the day, it happened again. I understand the existing block of rooms will be refurbished when the new block opens, so hopefully maintenance issues like this will be resolved. Overall, it was a satisfactory stay which met our needs for a very reasonable price.

Highly accessible accommodation with service station + Asda, and McDonald’s right beside. Building work going on, but understandable as they are expanding with better rooms. I shall use this place again.
