Lovely hotel ,very spacious rooms ,we went new years eve and they had left lots of nice things in the room,Xmas crackers ,party poppers,candy canes ,wine ,beer,activity sheets and a free pass into soft play ,reception staff very friendly especially Sue who chatted away to my little boy ,we will definitely be returning

This is a good Premier Inn. Top staff, clean and tidy, lots of free parking, plus rooms worth the extra if you can get one and fairly quiet too. It's just let down by the oh so beige breakfast served at The Hungry Horse next door. It was so beige and poorly cooked that I didn't bother with the last three breakfasts there, even though they had been paid for. Bit of a let down as breakfast should set you up for the day ahead.

We enjoyed our stay at this hotel we were over for Christmas and have family in Newton Aycliffe so it was the perfect place to stay. We thought it was different from when we stayed back in 2021. Our room felt homely and loved what the cleaner Amy left on our bed when we arrived sorry we didn’t use our Christmas crackers

We stay here every time we come to see family (at least once per year) and have done so since 2015. We were delighted to see the beautiful renovation making the hotel look very smart. The staff are always so friendly which helps us feel this is a home from home. A few drinks in the Gretna Green across the way is always a good night! This Premier Inn is a clean, quiet and cosy place to stay.

We booked a family room for between Christmas and New Year as we were visiting family near by. Sue on reception was lovely and very helpful. The hotel was spotlessly clean and newly refurbished. We were so impressed at what good value for money this hotel was, it was cheaper for us to stay overnight here than get a taxi to and from home. Thanks Sue for a lovely welcome. Will stay again 👌🏼

This place has been recently upgraded and the difference is very noticeable. Decor is nice and fresh and the room felt instantly warmer. The staff are excellent as ever, special shout out to Angela who was on when we checked in on Xmas Eve, who went the extra mile with our little girl. Also, nice to have some little treats in the room for Xmas, especially for the little one.

Amazing refurbished rooms, clean and helpful friendly staff, we had a lovely stay. We stay almost every year and always return. Staff always friendly! Water pressure in bathrooms needs looking at though.

Loved the newly refurbished rooms, and the Prem Plus is (in my opinion) well worth the modest uplift in cost. The only problem is that since the renovations the water pressure has really dropped off, and taking a shower is a miserable experience. Hopefully this will improve soon!

We stopped here for a stay over on the way up to Scotland. The hotel is easy to find. Plenty of parking. There’s a pub next door which we didn’t try, serves food including breakfast. Staff were friendly. I’m not sure if this branch has been refurbished or if it’s new, it comes across very fresh for a premier inn. Comfy bed as always, very quiet environment. Met our basic needs perfectly.
