Despite its convenient location, this Premier Inn is showing significant signs of wear and tear. The fixtures and fittings are very dated, including no USB socket next to the bed, and limited sockets in general for seasoned travellers. The rooms and hallways have a fusty/musty smell which is either due to poor ventilation or carpets/upholstery in serious need of replacing, but most likely a combination of both. It's just got that 'old' feeling about it and needs a complete refurbishment, including the introduction of Plus rooms.

I use this hotel regularly when visiting family. Clean rooms, friendly staff and a lovely cooked breakfast. Great value for money. No issues at all

I stayed a full week, visiting family and friends around S Yorkshire. The hotel is very conveniently situated for the conurbation and the Pennines. I had an excellent disability-accessible room on the ground floor; it was simply furnished but was comfortable, very clean and the bathroom was well furnished with grab rails. The staff at reception, in the dining room and in the kitchen were particularly warm and friendly. Unknown to them, we are going through difficult times and arrived exhausted: their kindness really enabled us to relax and wake refreshed and ready for the challenges facing us each day. Hats off to the chef, they can make better porridge than I can! We frequent P Inn regularly; this is for sure among the best and we will be returning.

A well located, comfortable hotel. Very welcoming staff. Decor getting worn and tired in places, time for a refresh otherwise very good. Evening meals not available whilst l was there.

Friendly staff. Convenient access for J36 of the M1. Otherwise grim - cold, damp room, mouldy bathroom. No restaurant or bar on site - no advance warning of this, so McDonalds or the Shell Garage. Not a pleasant end to a long drive.

This is a good Premier Inn with helpful staff. The bedrooms are Premier Inn standard. For those tired of sitting down all day, there is a nice local common with great walks which is accessible from the hotel without a vehicle. HOWEVER, at this moment, the Wentworth Restaurant is closed (until Christmas). It will become a Wetherspoons (which is great news) but be aware that, although they have converted bedrooms into a breakfast room, there is no restaurant on site. The only one within walking distance is McDonalds or the Tankarsley Manor up the road

Sadly had a bad experience. Didn’t sleep as was literally sweating in my bed. There is no air conditioning at this hotel and my room reached 26° by the middle of the night. The window hardly opens to allow air in and I wasn’t offered a fan. Even the cleaner said in the morning that she wanted to clean the rooms on the other side of the corridor as ‘my side’ were too hot to work in. My bathroom stank of ‘damp washing’ from the shower curtain.

Something of a mixed bag in our experience of this Premier Inn. What they did well: Clean, comfortable bedroom and bathroom. Ample car parking. Staff kindly let us work in the breakfast room after checkout time. Staff were friendly and helpful and did apologise for the restaurant closure and did suggest alternative restaurants to drive to. What they did not do well: Accepted my evening meal deal booking less than a couple of weeks before my stay. Whitbread had already sold the restaurant, and it was closed on the evening of my stay. Did get a refund but severely inconvenienced my stay, especially as this Premier Inn is in the middle of nowhere with no other restaurants nearby. After a 4 hour drive to reach the hotel I was left with nowhere to get a proper evening meal. At breakfast most of the hot food items had run out. The chef was clearly not monitoring what was running low and cooking more to replenish the buffet. Would I stay there again? No, not now I know there is a Mercure just around the corner.
