Had 3 days over the Christmas period. Have done this for a number of years as it enables us to spend time together as a family. Great location next to the sea provided it is not blowing an easterly gale which it was. Rooms had a few cobwebs in them and windows were covered on the outside with sea spray so sea view not possible. The original building was built in Napoleonic times as a hospital, the last manager is buried in the land to the side of the building in the park. Evidence of the original building can be seen in the restaurant. It has had many owners before Whitbread took it over in the 2000's. Google Goodrington Naval hospital for more information. Car parking is £7.50 per 24 hours. Free WiFi was variable but adequate.

Room with a tiny window with sea view for 4 nights, if only you could see through the filthy window! . Told Whitbread won't pay for window cleaning due to it being storm season - perhaps don't charge extra then for a non existent view! Breakfast was good choice & value, team worked hard to look after everyone, very busy Saturday & Sunday.

I booked a one night stay here to visit family. I was disappointed to find the poor accessibility which was not clear when booking. There are steps everywhere and no lift! I was not offered help with my bag, despite clearly being disabled, so struggled up two flights of stairs on my own.

Emma on reception was just lovely. Warm and attentive. Makes a big difference to our stay when you know the staff are friendly. The bed was very comfortable, and a nice warm shower in the bathroom.

Slightly scruffy hotel with a rude receptionist who refused to help when I explained my 3 night stay was really 4 and here is the receipt to prove it. Told me to call guest services. 32 minutes of waiting and talking to a polite but useless operator ended with her telling me a colleague will call me straight back. Nobody ever did. I had to rebook on line! Brewers fayre restaurant, was very poor. Thread bare carpets and sticky tables combined with poor to average food quality over 4 nights. Breakfast OK.
