Warm and comfy inn. We stayed in the Remember Baker suite and loved the fireplace. What a treat to have a fire in June! Breakfast was very good. Will return.

We stayed for a couple of days between Christmas and New Year's. The rooms were spotlessly clean, beds very comfortable, and breakfast each morning was outstanding! The innkeepers are friendly and welcoming. The location is beautiful and it was an easy drive to Bromley Mountain for Alpine skiing and Wild Wings Nordic Center for XC. Highly recommend! We'll be back!

We stayed at the Ira Allen House for 2 nights last week and were very pleased with it. The accommodations were good but the most noteworthy thing was that the breakfasts were excellent. Also, the innkeepers (Mike & Kevin) were very friendly and willing to spend time speaking with us and making suggestions about the Manchester area. Also, getting to downtown Manchester was super easy since the B&B is located on Route 7A which is a straight shot into town. They also had fresh cookies & baked goods in the lobby each day.

Lovely historic inn with all the charm and character of a 200 year old building. We were warmly greeted by Michael who also made us a fantastic breakfast. Nice touches were homemade cookies and a keurig, (they also have discount tickets to Hildene which I highly recommend visiting). We stayed in the two bedroom Ira Allen suite which was intimately cozy yet allowed my travel partner and I the privacy of having our own sleeping rooms. The beds were very comfortable and the rooms were clean. The uneven floors spoke to the history and craftsmanship of a made-by-hand building and I couldn't help but think about the lives of past residents and the work that was put into constructing this home. Rural and quiet, yet conveniently located a few miles from Manchester, VT which was a fun place to poke around...stores, eats, strolling and great scenery. If you are looking for a "shiny new" hotel this would not be for you but if you want rustic charm, warm hospitality, and affordability, this just might be your place. Would definitively stay here again.

Fascinating historic inn, well appointed, comfortable, clean, close to many attractions in the area. Every room has interesting displays that take you back to an earlier and very interesting age. The breakfast was delicious, beautifully presented, PERFECT! Will definitely stay here again.

Thank you Mike for such a lovely stay at the Ira Allen House. My mom and I entered the house to find 2 fireplaces blazing and homemade cookies in the living room. We stayed in the Abigail suite, which is super comfy, interesting and quite spacious..loved the furnishings! Mike made us an amazing breakfast with yummy muffins, egg strada and yogurt/granola/strawberries...coffee with local cream, too. The grounds are just lovely - be sure to walk around the property on the Batten Kill. The Ira Allen Inn was the highlight of our Vermont leaf peeping trip....we were very sorry to leave and looking forward to going back. Mike is an expert innkeeper - he personalized every aspect of our stay. A true treasure!

We had stayed at the inn before and this visit found it to be an even more special experience than we'd remembered. It's a charming and cozy historic home and the gracious owners are great sources of information about its storied past. All the suites have two rooms each making for spacious accommodations, and if you want more there's a sprawling beamed ceiling living room to relax in. Across the street is a lovely huge meadow to stroll, and the front porch is a treat any time of day. The hosts Kevin and Michael couldn't be more accommodating, right down to a sumptuous hot from-scratch breakfast daily featuring locally souced ingredients. They will accommodate dietary restrictions as well, though we have none! We stayed in Abigail's suite this time and contrary to a recent comment found it warm and spotless, with a comfortable bed and sitting area by the stove. Bathroom fixtures were modern and worked fine, with plenty of water pressure and hot water. The inn's web site is in fact an accurate representation of our stay, featuring recent photos depicting it at all times the year. The Remember Baker suite is truly special owing to the private deck and wood burning fireplace. If it's sleek and contemporary you're seeking one can discern from the site it's not that kind of place. But there's a reason the Inn is top-rated in the immediate area - you won't be disappointed!

Manchester was our favorite area we visited in Vermont, and staying at the Ira Allen House made it more memorable. The house is very old, but Kevin has maintained the decor and details while keeping up with renovations and never-ending repairs of a house that is 250 years old. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom was spacious. Breakfast was delicious, full of local food. Kevin was very accommodating with food alergies, and was able to provide recommendations for places to visit and to eat. We were there on a Sunday, and Kevin had a detailed list of instructions to take a "Sunday loop" to visit multiple places, including a forest and a farmer's market, that we would have never known if it wasn't for him. The house is on a busy road, you may want to book a room in the back of the house. It is about 10 minutes away from Manchester, right next to the entrance to Mt. Equinox.

Invited by our close friends, my wife and I stayed at The Ira Allen House on January 12-14, 2024. The experience was fantastic. The accommodations were like home with a large living room with two fireplaces for reading and conversation, comfortable bedrooms and beds, and of course everything was clean and tidy. The owners were extremely hospitable and attentive to our needs. One of them was the principal chef, serving three-course, gourmet breakfasts and excellent coffee and tea, at a leisurely pace, and both were full of recommendations of restaurants for dinners and sites to visit. We look forward to returning.

Our hosts, Michael and Kevin, were delightful. The rooms are immaculate and comfortable. Delicious breakfasts with fresh, mostly local ingredients. We long to go in the winter and cross-country ski nearby, enjoying the many fireplaces throughout the inn during our stay.
