It saddens me to see the ski industry prices get so high!. I used to ski Timberline and Canaan as a kid at least 7-10 times a year. The prices were reasonable $35 -$50 a ticket, and possible to go all the time. Now as I try and take the next generation of kids skiing, it has become so expensive it is only realistic to go 1 to 2 times a year. The ski bum has disappeared.. Now the money hungry industries try and take all they can when the ski season is in. The next generation of skiers will not happen due to pricing them out. I just looked to ski in Europe to compare. It is cheaper to ski in Austria for 3 days with lodging and rentals than it is to ski 2-3 days in the us. $70 a ticket and $120 a night for lodging and $20 for ski rentals. If I were to go to Snowshoe for 3 days it would cost me $2000 dollars. I hope to see something change because the sport will die due to pricing us out.

We have skied every state east of the Mississippi and think this is our favorite one we have visited in Southeast and Midwest US. Reasonably priced, 1000 ft of vertical, nice long runs, great snowmaking, and decent lodge. High speed lift leads to a lot of runs. Not bad bar.
