Our time at this charming, refurbished 19th century guest house was only made more perfect by our gracious hosts, Serge and Catherine. They made us feel at home and comfortable. Breakfast in the glassed in garden room of their home was special served on beautiful blue and white china, usually with a kitchen specialty. Breakfast included an assortment of homemade jams, croissants or other delicious breads, cheese and fresh fruit from the garden. They were a great source of local information and recommendations. The location was convenient to the town center and the amazing 230 foot Bayeux tapestry. We enjoyed relaxing evenings in the private garden of the guest house enjoying a glass of delicious French wine.

Catherine and Serge’s place in Bayeux is one of my favorite AirBnB’s I’ve ever stayed at! It’s incredibly clean and charming. They have vintage furniture that’s in impeccable shape, and it’s very functional. The beds are comfortable and the bedding high-quality. It’s walking distance from the train station as well as the shops/restaurants in town. The optional breakfast has all kinds of homemade goodies and jams made from proceeds from their garden. Also, love that they have compost to help minimize waste. The only visitors who would not be a good fit to stay here are overweight individuals who are accustomed to (and expect) expansive spaces, i.e. it’s not large, Texas-style lodging. Then again, it’s going to be difficult to find spacious lodging anywhere in Bayeux. This home is a a more standard European scale, and we found that it perfectly suited our needs. Highly recommend!

We have just returned from Bayeux and had a wonderful stay at Les Lilas de Bellefontaine and cannot thank Catherine and Serge enough for making our stay extra special, especially their breakfast. Nothing was too much for them, to make sure we had a great time, including getting us into the local restaurants, when they were fully booked. Lovely place to stay, with your own fully equiped kitchen, living room, gardens and En-suite bathrooms.

Serge & Catherine are such gracious and welcoming hosts! They are so friendly and helpful, and they make a fabulous breakfast that must not be missed. Serge's homemade jam from the garden and their chicken's eggs are the best! We really enjoyed the time we spent with them during breakfast each day; they were interesting and fun to visit with. Catherine helped me practice my French and Serge gave us tour guide services and played French music for us during our meal. The house is very charming and comfortable. We slept in the downstairs bedroom and the bed is comfortable (on the softer side if you prefer a soft mattress). There is another bed upstairs that is more firm if you prefer a firm mattress. The kitchen is well stocked, and our hosts had left a bottle of local cider in the fridge to welcome us. The yard and garden are so beautiful and the area was very peaceful and quiet. Overall, we had a wonderful stay and came away feeling like we'd made new friends!

This two bedroom, two bathroom cottage is absolutely delightful. It’s welcoming, spacious, comfortable and very well equipped. It’s set in a beautiful, private and very relaxing garden. Catherine and Serge are the most wonderful hosts who prepare an amazing breakfast with the freshest of croissants, bread, yoghurt, delicious home made jams, fresh eggs laid by their own chickens and so much more! Everything was perfect!

This B&B is exactly as advertised, only better. Located in an old (1800's) stone building, the facility has been recently and very tastefully renovated. There are two full bedrooms - one on the ground floor and another upstairs, as well as a bathroom on each level. There's another room with a single bed upstairs, so the place can comfortably accommodate 5 people. The back door opens onto a HUGE garden, that was very popular with our 3-year-old granddaughter. Onsite parking is available, and easily accommodates two cars. The WiFi was free and worked just like we were at home. Serge and Catherine, the owners, live next door, and are just plain super - incredibly friendly and eager to share tips and information on the local area, and help in any way they can. After meeting our granddaughter, they brought her some playthings they keep for their own grandchildren. On our last day there, they even volunteered to take us and our baggage to the train station, which was incredibly helpful. For an extra fee, Serge and Catherine offer to provide a homemade French breakfast. Their breakfast is really incredible - both delicious and a work of art. I can't recommend it highly enough. They even went out of their way to accommodate our son's gluten allergy. Overall, I just can't say enough good about our experience here. Arrival and departure were simple, and our stay was about as perfect as it could get. Both the facility and the owners are absolutely 5-star. I can really only think of one possible caution. As mentioned, it's an old stone building, and the layout leaves little room for the stairs to the upper level. The stairs are new and modern, but the stairway is necessarily narrow and open, with a couple of turns. That was no problem for us, but people with limited mobility might find navigating the stairs to be difficult.
