A very quiet location, clean, onsite parking, pleasant staff, and a very good price, although it was January, but will definitely stay again if visiting Southend.

For a budget hotel this was an excellent experience. Reception staff were friendly and welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. Our room was clean and spacious with ample electric sockets - sadly the one USB socket did not appear to work but this was not a problem. I was pleased to discover that the heating could be turned down and even, off, and that the windows opened for fresh air. We had a room at the back which was very quiet indeed. The only noise was the slight creaking of footsteps as other guests went to their rooms. The shower was hot, powerful and controllable. There was the inevitable problem of black mould in the sealant in one corner of the bath. It is rare to find no evidence of this these days, no matter how hard the hotel tries. The small defects were more than compensated for in the excellent staff, comfortable bed and quiet location. I would stay here again if ever I need to be in Southend-on-Sea.

A fabulous location right on the beach front and near several places to eat. Great parking and always a welcome from the staff. The rooms are clean and comfortable and ideal for a quick weekend away or a business trip

The room was very tried. Banging heater when on, curtains hanging down. No duvet cover or pillow case covers. The receptionist were very good

Location is good right on the seafront. Car parking a bonus as free. Outside could do with a tidy up but the reception and room was clean and tidy. Beds are a bit high for me and getting in the bath for a shower a bit problematic. Breakfast baps would be nice rather than having to go for a Toby breakfast. Overall good.

This is not our first visit to this Premier Inn, if we come to this part of the U.K., this where we come. We, once again, had a very comfortable and economical stay but I have to say the hotel really needs a bit of TLC. A coat of paint in a lot of the common areas wouldn’t go amiss. The bath surrounds need re-sealing and the grouting on the bath tiles need scrubbing. Maybe I’ve watched too many episodes of ‘Four in a Bed’. Small thing but this place used to be spotless. Also, you have to request a room clean if you stay more than one night. WHAT!! NO ROOM CLEAN OR BED MADE?? Not sure about that.

The stay at the Premier Inn, Thorpe Bay, was extremely clean and the staff were very professional and very helpful at all times. Value for money was very good and the location was a short taxi ride from all local attractions.

I stay in a lot of Premier Inns and I always stay in the Thorpe Bay hotel when in Southend. The staff are very welcoming and friendly. The rooms clean, comfortable, and seldom with any problems. There are a few good cafes and restaurants nearby (for breakfast, Italian and Cantonese food) and the on site Toby Carvery, which I also like. The hotel is a bit older than many Premier Inns, but well maintained nevertheless. Would definitely recommend to anyone.
