We've been coming here for some years now and it's one of our favourite Premier Inn locations. It's a lovely walk or a short bus ride into the centre of Carlisle and plenty to do and see. The rooms are clean and comfortable and all the staff are lovely and helpful, special shout out to Juile who we've got to know over our numerous visits, she's a credit to the Premier Inn staff.

We were really disappointed in this premier inn! Right from the off, we walked in and the place was dated, and honestly felt and looked unclean. Got into our room, it was freezing! There was one small radiator in the corner that we left on all night and it was still cold! Went to put some hot water in a cup and there was what looked like salt at the bottom of the cup. The beds were made nice, but there were hairs and there was a smell! I never even took my clothes off to get into the bed! As for the breakfast! All the dishes were filthy. Lipstick on glasses, marks on cups, the plates were gritty and awful. The cutlery was dirty. The food was about a 2/10! The scrambled egg was like rubber, the beans were chewy, the bacon wasn’t cooked. The pastries were stale. All in all, our stay was awful! We were up and out as soon as we could.

The staff at the hotel were very friendly and helpful (Tracy in particular). I had a small issue with one of the appliances in the room and the staff were very knowledgeable about how to get it resolved.

The staff were exceptionally kind and helpful from booking in to leaving. The rooms are a little tired but clean and comfortable, my disabled husband did struggle with the low bath a shower would have been advantages. The pub next door was very busy, that staff advised of any delays, the choices on the menu were good and included vegetarian options, the breakfast was very nice, there was a lot of building work going on.

I’ve stayed in this hotel for about 2 months in 2025 and am back because the facilities and staff are very professional and extremely helpful I also eat in the adjacent pub which again is friendly and provides! A shout out to Tracey on reception who is always more than helpful !

Julie on reception was fabulous nothing was too much trouble. Unfortunately room very much in need of a major upgrade. Only one table in the room so had to put a chair on the other side so I could put a drink on it. The top of the tap in the bathroom was missing. Had no decaf tea in the room fortunately Julie came to the rescue and gave us some from reception. The furniture in the room was all chipped, faded and drab looking. David and Ann, room 9.
