The room was nice. It had a nice decor of blue and white..
And extremely dated television, a small bathroom. Beds were actually very good.
We did have to change our room because they accidentally put us in a room that hadn’t been cleaned. They were very apologetic and happy to accommodate.
This hotel is half being remodeled from best Western to a holiday so that was evident.
There were some lingering cigarette smells throughout the hotel, but not in the rooms.
The elevator was disgusting and had a huge stain in it, and it was stained yellow all over. The breakfast was two stars just mediocrity. I would not stay at this holiday again. It was also very expensive for the weekend and what we were getting.

The hotel didn’t seem to be full but I was put next to rooms that were occupied as well. That wouldn't have bern a problem except the walls are paper thin and you can hear everything! The people next to me were violently slamming their bathroom door over and over, and no one from the hotel came to check on the noise. The shower caulking was non-existent so water was all over the bathroom and I had to use every towel to try to soak it up. The bathroom mirror had led built in that blinked all night long when off. The only upside was the complimentary hot breakfast.

They are in the middle of renovating the hotel. They have guests staying on the floor already fine and it's nice. Comfortable beds and pillows! As always with all hotels, could use overhead lighting but it seems like no one does. We will stay again as this was our 3rd stay there....

The air conditioner rattled all night. The toilet was so low it was hard to get up from it.

Not up to Holiday Inn Express standards!
I stayed at other Holiday Inn expresses throughout the years and this one did not live up to the names standards. Where do I start? For starters, it smelt like Indian curry inside the hotel, I found a long hair on my bed, the wallpaper was from the 80s, the TV was not a modern smart TV. It was from the 2010s and was not able to stream Netflix, the carpet was from the 80s the faucets were from the 90s

Felt shabby. The toilet ran until you removed the tank lid and manually fixed it. The shower had two bottles of conditioner and no shampoo. The regular thermostat had a sign saying it didn’t work and to use the window unit, which made an awful inconsistent rattle/scraping noise that made it hard to sleep. The lighting was inconsistent inside varying between full spectrum and soft warm lighting.
I asked our last night at the front desk if they had a corkscrew for a bottle of wine and I got a weird response asking if it was only the one bottle and that I wasn’t going to be rowdy (I’m a 50 year old guy staying with my wife and 14 year old daughter).
Staying closer to Madison when visiting my family will cost more and have more traffic but I imagine it’s worth it over this place. I won’t be staying here again.
