We were traveling on vacation going home. After 7 hours on the road, we stop at the Hampton in Yazoo City, MS. When we arrived, there was a sign saying “please excuse our mess”. The office was in a small room down a hallway which was understandable. So, we checked into room 216. Upon entering, we noticed a strange smell. The room was not clean, the tv remote did not work, the lamp was some kind of electrical hazard since the light bulb was on top of the lamp shade, the ceiling had a stain, the curtain had blood or something on it, the bench fabric was stained, the ac thermostat had a sign on it to use the unit to control it but it didn’t seem to work good, and the electrical outlets would not hold our phone chargers. We came back from dinner and asked to be moved. Room 407 was much better but the trip fault electrical plug in the bathroom did not work, there was hair in one of the beds, and the desk had something sticky on it. Also, the elevators had not been swept and one had something sticky which looked like it had been there for days. The clerk gave us some members points but the whole place was in need of a deep cleaning and major electrical repairs. We would have left but there wasn’t any hotels on our route for another 3 hours which put us 3 hours from home. We were too tired for that. We will not stay here again.

Over the years I have stayed at the Hampton Inn several times while visiting family in Yazoo City and have watched it steadily go downhill. On this trip I was surprised to see that they are in a renovation project upgrading rooms and other areas of the hotel. The room we had was very large, clean with a comfortable king bed. The walls and rugs did not have any stains on them as in previous stays. Bathroom was also clean and had a nice shower head. This hotel has always had great employees who were very nice and helpful and on this stay we found them to be the same. Breakfast was typical Hampton Inn with eggs, breakfast meat and potatoes. Nice to see that they are upgrading the hotel and I’ll definitely stay here again while visiting my relatives.

I want to give very high marks (5 out of 5) to two of the employees at this property who were extremely helpful and extended to me great customer service. Their attitudes made my stay delightful and I will return. Also, I was impressed with the overall cleanliness of the property; as Hilton Diamond member I've stayed in a lot of Hamptons acress the country and this was one of my best stays. The employees are: Janiyah--the front desk clerk when I checked in; and Ida--the front desk clerk when I checked out. Alicia Little is the GM.

The rooms are disgusting with brown stains on the walls. The bedding was white but looked grey and dingy. The light fixtures are rusty. The place needs renovations. The amount they charge here for what you get is not worth it especially considering the train comes by all night keeping you up. I’d rather stay further away… than stay here again.

Come on Hampton, clean and update this facility. Front desk did a good job. Bathroom floors were slippery and carpet sticky. No longer up to Hilton standards. Two remotes needed to watch TV. Lightbulbs out in bathroom, wallpaper coming off walls and water stains on ceiling.

We came in pretty late and we were very thankful for a comfortable bed and a ice , clean room. The Friendly staff at the front desk made us feel welcome and appreciated. The breakfast area was clean and the food was delicious. Overall a GREAT stay

The best part about this place ,Is the lady name Liz who does the morning breakfest.What a diamond.Liz always smiled greeted everyone.Ask how was thr stay,was there any issues we did not like.Liz even would walk by smiling and ask,if she could get us something. Liz deserves a award ,a cash award at that.She was the only employee who took pride in the place and the customers.

The hotel was exceptionally clean and comfortable. The staff were beyond warm and friendly. Special thanks to Alice who took care of my food restrictions by making me a special breakfast. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Thank you to all.

We took the trip doing these difficult times with the Covid virus because one of our loved ones passed away and although it was a sad situation we found comfort and peacefulness every time we went back to the Hampton Inn!
