The Wentworth delivers a quaint very New Hampshire experience, there is a shuttle to go into town or you can enjoy the hotel. Loved their breakfast.

We booked a table for Thanksgiving dinner which was a disaster. We arrived early and were told that wee needed to wait fifteen minutes for our table. Went to the bar to wait and despite frequent checkin every fifteen minutes, one and a half hours later and $100+ on high priced drinks the staff had gone home without telling us. Complained at the front desk and they did not solve our problem. We left in disgust vowing to never go back to this disrepurable establishment.

Checked into this seemingly beautiful and historic property for a three night stay. Traveling from San Francisco with my husband, and we were looking for a comfortable property near the coastline to spend several nights relaxing after five days seeing friends and family and various places. A big storm was growing in the northeast, so we changed our plans to be up near Mount Washington and decided to stay here where we would have a full service restaurant, bar, room service, and resort amenities. We immediately spoke with the restaurant manager and made a 7 PM dinner reservation in the main dining room. We arrived shortly before 7 to find a long line of people literally queuing out the door and into part of the hotel lobby. Everyone seem baffled about the lack of communication from anyone regarding the wait, but we were confident that we were hotel guests (restaurant is open to the public) and that we had a reservation. We were mistaken. It took 45 minutes before anyone helped us to a table and instead of apologies or a glass of wine or anything while we waited, we were ignored. Once we were finally seated, we had to wait 45 minutes for the bottle of wine that we wanted to go with our dinner. Although our server was kind and personable, this was simply beyond inexcusable. The hostess was also the food and beverage manager, and she was hastily bussing tables and setting new places at tables, but this was beyond an excusable. I was so upset by the way the evening had progressed that I wanted to check out the next morning. However, our plans and our flight schedule were difficult to change and we decided that surely things would get better the next day. Regarding the actual room itself, the hotel runs on some type of heat pump system so you cannot decide that you would like air conditioning or just the fan or heat. Rather, you choose a temperature and it will constantly work to try to either raise the temperature to that number or lower the temperature to that number, which meant we were sort of stuck in a bad middle ground where even 68° meant that the system was going to try to pump heat into our room. Working with engineering we were told many people have an issue with this situation and that we could just opt to have them cut the circuit breaker to our room. We had no choice as we cannot sleep with heat pumping into our bedroom. The sliding door was available for some fresh air, but of course there was no screen. Worse than the inability to put cool or warm air into the room at Will, the compressor that was in the wall near the foot of the bed vibrated and rumbled so much that the floor of the room and even the pillows upon which you were placing your head were vibrating such that it was impossible to ignore. Once our system had been deactivated by the circuit breaker, we could still feel the floor vibrating from the adjacent room on the other side of the wall. With the vibration in our pillow pillows all night long, sleep was terrib

We visited your property last year for lunch on our way up to Bar Harbor ME . I loved it so much I knew we had to book a stay and I was not disappointed. We went with friends of ours in July for a long weekend . The grounds and the hotel are beautiful . The entire staff was great but Jeanette was amazing !!! She went out of her way to accommodate anything we needed . The shuttle service is also a great feature . We can’t wait to go back !

I am a little surprised that the majority of your housekeeping staff spoke little to no English. We encountered several employees who needed the assist of a translator app. for basic requests.

This is our third visit to Wentworth. Nice location, food is very good ( pricey) and rooms are attractive. Bar is nice-though there was a dollar upcharge on an espresso martini if you add Baileys. I thought that was the recipe? I was not informed of this ahead of time. I had requested (twice) a particular room but they do not accommodate specific room requests. Rooms with “balconies” have Juliette balconies so you can’t sit on them. Our room had no bathroom fan and the slider door needed repair. After I returned home I called Wentworth and asked to speak with the hotel manager (Jason) about an issue I felt he should be aware of. He didn’t return my call. I called again the next day and escalated the urgency and then received a return call. He listened, (somewhat defensively) and said he would check on the issue and call me back. He never did. Overall, I think the attention to detail has declined in the past few years. This is NOT an inexpensive hotel. I would think every detail would be attended to and guests should feel that they are a priority. Sadly, that seems not to be the case any longer. We won’t be going back.

We had cocktails in the bar. I've been to a few holiday brunches in the past with family and enjoyed them -- good food, elegant atmosphere. The hotel's architecture itself is beautiful and the building was the site of at least one Hollywood film if not more. Fantastic views, meticulously-groomed grounds. Decades ago, the hotel was on the other side of the road, but then the road was 'moved'. And, the hotel is supposedly *******, although I've never experienced anything.

We wanted to check out this hotel for a possible stay in the future and/or as a wedding venue. We ate lunch at Latitudes. It was a nice day and the view was nice. The food and drinks were expensive as we expected. What we did NOT expect was to be charged for two drinks on our bill when we only ordered ONE of the drinks. We were told some nonsense about the shots in the drink being expensive and we were actually getting a "deal". After dealing with the server, and the head server, the manager came over and refused to remove one of the drinks on the bill. We ended up paying $48.00 for ONE cocktail. I would not recommend this hotel. Rude staff. Extremely overpriced, and not accomadating to guests.
