Check in was OK. Had issues with card reads attempt to checkin multiple time, card declining, same card used to book reservation. Had it not been for a backup card, we could not have checked in..

Musty smell
The room was clean but as soon as you walk in it has an old musty smell that took a while to get used to. Beds were comfy. Also The view out my window was covered which was not good. I paid $194 for the night. It wasn't worth that price.

Reservations were made for two adults and two kids (8&6) in a double queen bed room.
We were given a single king bed room. Yes, it has a pull out couch, but only had pillows and blankets for the king bed. Bathroom only had towels for two as well. (If 4 people are checking in, pay attention enough to not give us a two person room)
All soaps are in wall-mounted pumps too high for kids to reach alone. The hair conditioner and hand soap smelled like Off Mosquito repellent.
Biggest complaint is the bed and pillows. Very uncontrollable and old-firm feeling.
The property IS about 30 minutes from Carlsbad canyon, so that’s nice, but there are closer and newer hotels.
I’d pass on this hotel if given the option again.
