Used the PUBLIC EV charger but got fined by the hotel as they could not be bothered to put a sign on the EV charger that you will get fined £100 for using it if you do not pay for parking. What a rediculous location for a PUBLIC EV charger. Will not stay at this hotel after they stole from me.

Hotel is being used for the council to house homeless with children. The hotel is absolutely nothing like the images provided for internet purposes. The communal area has severely stained sofas, the hotel rooms have been cleaned to their standard, but toilet was visible with urine, mild and dirt on the carpet and windowsills and extremely rude staff. Although the manager was nice and polite the rest of the staff need to be fired

Rooms damp on ground floor by pool, rude and unhelpful staff and charged parking charges even after proving I had stayed at hotel. On the plus side the location good for commuting, although will never use Holiday Inns again after this experience.

I have recently been told my confirmed reservation is immediately cancelled for “confidential reasons “ as the hotel is closing for 12 months. It will perhaps be full of .. er..alternative residents…. It seems perhaps Holiday Inn has no interest in regular long standing loyal guests . The Hotel chain has shown itself to be completely unreliable and after many years of loyalty which now counts for nothing I will never use this company again.

Decent stay in good accommodation with friendly staff. Closest IHG hotel I could find to the airport on this occasion and worked out fairly well. Reasonable evening meal before getting my head down and a fairly simple drive to the airport following morning. Friendly guy on the bar making me feel welcome. Didn’t get chance to use facilities, but all good apart from that. Would stay again.

Holiday Inn Cardiff North was absolutely fantastic. Above and beyond! My new husband and I stayed here after we got married and our other hotel cancelled on us with no notice(!). The Holiday Inn staff were so welcoming and friendly. Our room was spotless and very spacious and we couldn't hear the M4 when the windows were closed. We stayed during a heatwave but it was not a problem because our room had Air Conditioning. The restaurant and bar were also great, meaning we didn't need to drive into Cardiff City centre each day. The hotel wasn't too far from town either, about 20 minutes' drive, or else we could have taken a bus (there's a bus stop right outside) or taxi. Also, this hotel is really near Castle Coch which you can walk to, and is a wonderful day out. Overall, I would recommend the Holiday Inn for a clean, comfortable and welcoming hotel near the city centre.

If it wasn’t for the speed of service in the bar/restaurant then the rating would have been a five. Ideal for business, close to the M4. Good desk space in the bedroom. Staff very friendly. Food just takes ages, even for simple stuff like Pizza - spoils the experience as a solo business traveler.

Overall, this place is fine, but it's disappointing considering it's a Holiday Inn. The decor is very tired and in need of a refresh. There's no lunch available, and the quality of the food is pretty average. However, the staff are friendly and helpful, and the beds were nice and comfy.

Stayed a couple of nights visiting friends. Although the hotel looked a bit in need of refreshing the staff were very helpful & friendly. A special mention & thanks to Chris the night manager who got us back to the hotel when the taxi company were giving us a problem. Once Chris got involved they picked us up within 20mins, we had been trying for over 2 hours.

Staff here are great but knew nothing about the local area-asked where closest amenities were and they had no clue. But, were very professional and friendly. Room had damp patches, unclean areas in bathroom and bedroom. Pull out bed made it a ‘family room’. It was so uncomfortable that children couldn’t sleep. A mattress should have been added. Metal frame was exposed. Sheet couldn’t tuck in/under so kept coming off. Quilts on both beds were so thick they couldn’t be used (June) but no thinner option available. Towels were clean but smelt like cooking fat-maybe stores near the kitchens? Swimming pool was clean but pool room was definitely not. It was dirty, mouldy and needed a serious lick of paint-like the bedroom. For over £155 a night I expected so much more. The food was also disappointing. Breakfast was pretty good apart from the rubbery eggs but the evening meal was awful. Cod sandwich was well cooked and tasty but fish barely covered half of the bread (cheap thin white bread). For £10 I expected nicer bread and more fish. You get a much better one in the local pub for half the price. Kids meals were good and good price. Meat feast pizza promised chicken and other meats but it just had leftover sausage from breakfast. And the dough was undercooked. All for £14!!! Certainly won’t be returning.
