When we arrived at around 6pm we were notified that there would be no water until 7pm due to maintenance upgrades. It would have been nice to be warned prior to arriving. When the water was back on, it took over an hour for the hot water to run clear enough (it was dark brown for about 20 minutes) to take our showers. Other than that, the room felt very run down and you could see where many patch jobs had been made.We'll try another hotel in the area next time.

The rooms were very clean, the lobby was so welcoming with the holiday decorations and the breakfast was wonderful. The only downside was that the exterior doors are always unlocked which was rather unnerving. I mentioned it to the front desk, they said that they monitor those doors all the time.

Staff was super nice, room needed some repairs, wallpaper coming off in bathroom and a couple of roof leaks that were not repaired by pros. Table has a leg that is very loose. Lighting in elevator very dim. But was clean, convenient and good peeps.

Front desk attendants and breakfast attendants were nice.
The concern was the rooms that were offered are on the side of the interstate. Very noisy. The Rooms were 115 and 117. Because of noise level of the interstate , I was unable to get a sleep or full night rest because of how close the interstate was to hotel location.
No noise control in the area. Not happy at all with rooms.
Reached out early in morning to complain and requested a credit. Because we were traveling with an elderly person I was concerned with moving to a location without their awareness. Offered earplugs that did not help. Plans to reach out to Tom or other manager on duty to request a credit.

Pool was not clean. Gate was broken.
The bathroom needs an update. Caulk is starting to mildew, etc. Room overall was clean, but smelled musty when we walked in. For the price and reputation of hi-ex we expected more.

On this stay, there seemed to be more help, especially for breakfast. I still think they need to do several upgrades, but it is clean and comfortable for a day or two stay.

Called ahead to confirm 4AM or later check-in would be okay, and was told it would be. When I showed up at 4:15AM the next day, absolutely exhausted, no one was at the desk. Apparently the front desk person was getting breakfast ready. When she went to check me in, I saw the sheet was labeled "3:30AM no show" at the top left. I went up to my room and immediately looked for a DO NOT DISTURB sign, which I could not find. I assumed from the note on the sheet that I would not be disturbed, so I showered and went to bed. At 9AM the next morning cleaning is knocking on my door, when I had to yell through the door repeatedly, they said that "they would be back." I had to go out and open the door to tell them do not return. It wasn't until the next night that I discovered the Do Not Disturb sign - someone had slid it almost entirely under the TV stand on the left side, away from the door.
Please ensure the DO NOT DISTURB signs are easily located in each room, or ensure that guests who arrived very late are not disturbed the following morning by the cleaning crew. Your own internal documentation shows when a guest arrives very late. There is no reason for this to happen, and frankly, I have never had this happen in all my travels. This feels like gross oversight from the perspective of the guest.
