Ok so booked here for end of month to have reservation cancelled yes with no explanation. So using my brain I contacted the hotel to ask what had happened to be told the hotel is closing for a year due to a government contract! ?? Interesting…. So understand and now booked another hotel happy days! These things happen I’m sure.

Hotel cancelled my stay with absolutely no contact. I had to chase them for an explanation - terrible customer service. Not even made the effort to offer alternative accommodation in yhe city as they do own multiple hotels. I'm not severely out of pocket as I'd booked very early to obtain a cheaper rate. Won't be using this company again.

Thank you IBIS Hotels, October 2021 as soon as I'd made reservations to the Speedway GP in Cardiff I made a reservation to the IBIS Cardiff Central for two nights. Now less than 24 hours ago I got an email advising me the booking had been cancelled! last evening I spent charging around (electronically) trying to secure an alternative, well I succeeded at a cost of a further £82! My limited knowledge suggests that was not legal to break a contract (certainly not ethical). I will be on the phone to Cardiff Trading Standards on Monday!

Hotel cancelled my booking without informing me. I called and they told me it was cancelled by the government. The only notice I had was a refund from bookings.com. The hotel didn't even have the decency to contact me to let me know so I could make different plans. My stay was planned in a fortnight so not great.

Made a booking months ago for a weekend stay in September and today my room was just cancelled by the hotel via *********** with no explanation. Rang the hotel and was told that they have cancelled all customer bookings because they have been contracted out to the Government for the rest of the year? Thanks Ibis for ruining my planned weekend away and thanks Boris!

Made a booking in December 2021 for June 2022. The booking has been cancelled today, rang the hotel to be told its been booked out for the year. Asked to speak to a manager, the manager contacted me back to say the hotel isn't open and is closed for a year. This was decided Thuraday just gone. Shocking attitude. Will be escalating this further up. Really not good enough. First and last time I ever book with Ibis.

Stayed here due to the location. We were seeing a concert in the Motorpoint arena and this was the closest hotel. You get what you pay for however I’ve paid less for a travel lodge and had a much better feel/comfortable night. The pillows were horrendous, woke up with awful neck and back pain. Location was brilliant, just across the road from the arena and from St David’s shopping centre. I believe the train station is a short walk also. We had a room on the second floor looking out to the street and when the window is closed you can’t hear anything. Room was basic, flooring was disgusting. No underlay at all so felt like you were walking on concrete. Shower functional. Liked the TV, it swivelled so you could move it in the direction you were sat/led. Tea and coffee facilities standard. Tea wasn’t nice. What I did really like was the aircon/fan device they had. I hate being too hot or cold in a room so it was great to be able to control that.

This budget hotel was perfect for what we needed it for, cheap, clean, friendly and ideally situated for Motorpoint Arena. A short walk from Cardiff Central Station with shops and restaurants on the doorstep. We were on the train track side of the hotel but don't recall ever hearing a train during the night. We were on the ground floor right by the main entrance so were woken briefly in the early hours by a drunken guest, but not the hotels fault. We did not have breakfast so cannot comment on the food. Would stay again.
