After a couple of years not providing Christmas Day Lunch, the Citrus started again this year! Pre lock down we were regular Christmas Day customers, so we're really happy that they resumed service. Today 16 of us went and once again the service and care was excellent. The food was excellent, catering for vegetarians and gluten free as well. The choices of starters, mains and desserts was amazing. The atmosphere was calm but still Festive. The staff were all so helpful and welcoming. If you're thinking about next year, I episode highly recommend. Thank you.

Although the hotel is a little "tired" the rooms were a good size and clean and tidy. Warm welcome on arrival was great. We did eat here and the food was hot and tasty with no long waiting to be served. If you are looking for a budget priced hotel then this is for sure worth every penny. Thank you.

Welcoming staff. Clean quiet rooms Sadly some improvement needed. A refurbishment as rooms and furniture are dated. The bwd was big and comfortable but it was 2 single beds pushed together and there was a ridge between them. The Duvet was also too.small.for such a big bed . The contr.on the shower was broken. The side of the bath panelmwas chipped at floor level .filed screw holes in the bathroom tiles clear to be seem. The curtain rods were badly chipped But we enjoyed out stat never the less as it was just a base to sleep in. We would go back. As it was a pleasent stay despite everything and the price was good

This hotel is Dated, noisy, un-clean and very uncomfortable. The rooms are very dated like stepping back into the 80s. The corridor and rooms have a very odd unclean type smell. Beds are old and need replacing, pillows even worse, no plug sockets near to beds, no ceiling lights, all lamps with Dull bulbs. Heating is questionable, the heating dial is covered over with gorilla tape for some reason. Bathroom clearly hadn't been cleaned properly, had to clean it before use, They don't service the rooms at all once you are booked in. If need extra tea bags coffee or anything you have to go and ask at reception. Towels are not changed, bins not emptied during your stay. TV remote doesn't work properly. You can't have room windows open due to noise, you might as well try to sleep in the middle of the VERY busy road outside. No Aircon in rooms. Breakfast is basic with cheap bacon and even cheaper sausages. Bar area needs a good deep clean too, all material chairs very stained. Very limited staff if you can find one that is. Wouldn't recommend this hotel.

That said I do understand your comments regarding our product as an older establishment we don't have air-conditioning or the newer usb ports bedside. We do have the extra amenities available from reception and if requested we do service the rooms for guests but find most prefer for short stays that rooms aren't disturbed and have maintained this since covid policies were introduced. The hotel may be a bit dated but the staff were excellent, the hotel was clean and the food delicious. We had a table of 26 so pre ordered dinner and it worked well. Breakfast was well managed with a big group and also delicious. This was our second visit, will use again.

Really don't know where to start. This is a very uninviting, shabby hotel with below average food and very below average staff. Definitely NOT good value for what you get. The staff were unfriendly to the point of being rude and one member of staff walked around the bar area with his phone in his pocket playing something unintelligible full blast! Will definitely not ever stay here again!

We loved staying at this traditional English hotel. The staff was very welcoming, the room and bathroom very spacious. One of the best English breakfast we’ve ever tasted! Always hot and fresh ! Will definitely come back and would recommend the stay for couples, families as well as business !

We booked our stay here because the Citrus Hotel is located very close to the Sports Connexion Leisure Club. Our room was No.1, which is an accessible room. This is an exceptionally large room with a very large bed and large bathroom. The room was lovely, quiet and clean, the bed was very comfortable. Lovely hotel really, with very friendly and helpful staff. Breakfast was lovely and food in the restaurant was good, they also had a good bar. This Hotel would be great for hosting events, as there is conference facilities/hall, plenty of parking & rooms for guests.

Took 33 people with Grand UK as a Tour Manager. We were there Monday. To Friday as our base. Rooms clean and comfortable. Food excellent. Staff Chrissy Simon and the team looked after us well. Just needs outside seating. Everyone enjoyed the stay. Has a small Gym. But could do with a swimming pool

Excellent stay. Great check in, super menu in bar in evening, my salmon was delicious. Good sleep in a warm and comfy bed. Great shower. Lovely and clean and a great choice for breakfast all well cooked. A lot of harsh reviews for this place but for what I paid and what I’ve seen elsewhere I’d come back here time and again. Thanks for a great overnight.
