It was my second time staying at the Renaissance. My family and I wanted a simple getaway close to home to relax and swim. Staff were kind and we found the room to be spacious and quiet! We were pleasantly surprised to be the only one using the pool during our stay. Hot tub was great as well. The bed was a little too firm for me and pillows lacked support. Overall, a great stay and room was a good value for the price.

Overall our stay was pretty solidly mid. The common areas of the hotel were decorated in a unique and interesting way. The check-in experience was friendly and easy. The room itself was functional and mostly clean. I liked that there was a couch area with a table so we didn't have to always sit on the bed. The bed was ok; mattress was very thin, but ended up being alright. No real complaints. The room was clean, except a few stray hairs in the bathroom; not a deal breaker. We spent time in the hot tub, which was excellent! We didn't use the pool, but it's huge for a hotel! The only major complaint is we prepaid for the breakfast, but didn't end up using the voucher. We showed up around 9:30 on the Sunday morning of our stay. Signage said to wait to be seated. Yes, seating at a hotel breakfast buffet, ok, so we waited, and watched people eating what appeared to be a very typical, generally free, continental hotel breakfast buffet. We had already paid, so we waited some more. The hostess came by no less than three times without even acknowledging our presence. Not an 'I'll be right with you' or even a simple 'hello'. The place wasn't remotely full. I attempted to make eye contact, which she was obviously weirdly avoiding. Nothing. It felt like we were inconveniencing this gal for being there at the place she works to serve people, so we left and spent more money on breakfast elsewhere. Save your $$ and don't bother inconveniencing the breakfast staff.

Enjoyed my stay. The bar provided great drinks however the Caesar salad with chicken I ordered was over priced and thrown together.

I booked a Junior Suite with my wife for our anniversary. The heating system in the room didn't work. We had a maintenance guy in our room at 10pm trying to fix it while we had wine and a movie. He ended up giving us an old space heater that was loud and short-circuited when it was too hot. The space under the door allowed for huge rushes of cold air as we were close to an exit door. It killed the night and made for a miserable experience. The staff would not offer any type of refund or compensation except for some free snacks. Thanks for nothing, Renaissance Hotel.
