Resort was great if you don’t plan on dining at their restaurant. We chose to stay here for our golden anniversary. First night we were turned away from the restaurant and bar because it was reserved & rented out. It would have been ok except we were then again turned away on Saturday because of a private wedding. We payed full price for not a full resort experience. We were never informed at check in. Pretty disappointed overall. Our $75 credit didn’t make up for our wedding anniversary. We chose here and won’t again. Great memories for our golden. Not!

Quintessential lake vacation. Pools were very nice. Billy- from the beach cabana answered all our questions and had great stories. Beach and docks are accessible and fun. Too windy to use one of the various boats available. Breakfast in the restaurant was tasty with friendly servers. Room in the lodge was basic but nice. Great for families or a get away.

We had a great time at Ruttgers! There are definitely a few things they could do as easy upkeep— like a lot of the buildings need a good pressure wash and paint, but it’s been great to see the improvements over the years! And the restaurants at the resort are high priced for the “vibe” (flys everywhere because they leave the doors wide open) and service isn’t the best, but the food is good.

We had a great time! The property and lake were gorgeous, the staff was exceedingly helpful and friendly. They had fantastic amenities! The condo was nice, very spacious, but a little run down. The screens were damaged, so the mosquitos came in at night, and I would recommend additional plates, silverware and perhaps salt/pepper in the units with full kitchens. I would definitely go back!
