They canceled our hotel because it was put on the wrong card , they didn’t even notify us that it was canceled . So we drove 3 hours and “they didn’t have a room” . The guy at the front desk was no help at all . We didn’t receive email or phone call to notify us .

If you are looking to spend $200 a night to stay in a dangerous neighborhood, have no housekeeping or supplies, pay $24 for an Uber as the shuttle has been shut down and be told if you don't like the cold, sub par breakfast to "go to McDonald's", this hotel is for you!

We booked our stay here because of the "stay & cruise package". We were not disappointed. Although the hotel itself is not in the greatest of neighborhoods, everything else was really wonderful. This hotel is much different than any Holiday Inn that we have stayed at. The hotel is in a converted bank and the lobby is impressive. Our room was clean and more than adequate. The evening before our departure for the cruise, all those taking advantage of the package moved our cars into a warehouse which was secured and locked. Our vehicle was not left out in a lot. The shuttle service to and from the cruise was prompt, efficient and easy. Taking advantage of this option rather than parking at the pier resulted in significant savings and couldn't have been more convenient. Well Done Holiday Inn Express Downtown! Besides all the advantages above, the biggest Kudos goes to the fantastic staff - From the receptionist, the security folks and the breakfast staff everyone was awesome. If ever taking another cruise out of Baltimore, there is no doubt we will be taking advantage of this package.

We stayed here the night before a cruise out of Baltimore Harbor. The hotel is an old bank with plenty of character. We stayed here specifically for the park and ride option. The morning of our cruise a van picked us up and delivered us to the ship without an issue. The return from the cruise 8 days later was a different story. We called the number on the card given to us at the port. The company is 5th Avenue Transportation (AVOID!!!). We were told to go to the pickup area and it would be 30 minutes. After 45 minutes, we called again and were told that the driver left without us because we weren’t there. We were exactly where all pickups were waiting. We were told 20 minutes. After 25, we called again and were told that they were on the way… 20 minutes. At this point, I said to forget it, we’d call a ride share. The guy argued with me, saying that he had stopped and called out, “Holiday Inn!” This was a blatant lie. I told him never mind and we took a ride share to the hotel. Upon our return, we informed the unhelpful desk attendant what had happened and instead of apologizing, he got defensive and said that the driver went to pick us up. So, not a bad hotel and the park and ride option is ok, even if the lot is VERY tight. Just factor in the cost of a ride share back to the hotel after your trip- this will save time and aggravation.

I had a great time at the Holiday Inn Express hotel in Baltimore. The hotel is located downtown with not a lot of restaurants nearby. However, the hotel offers a shuttle to a nearby restaurant (Mo's Seafood) which was excellent! I also really appreciated the talents of French-speaking Abdou at the front desk. He was very pleasant to converse with: He was very knowledgeable of the local area and very polite in meeting our requests -- including extending our checkout time so that we could visit the local Edgar Allen Poe house. I wish him the best in his future endeavors!

Our room was large and newly decorated, which was nice, however there were stains on the couch and carpet which could have been steam cleaned properly. The breakfast was fresh and had good variety. The hotel is a little out of the way to the harbour (15 minutes walk), and some reviewers had mentioned feeling unsafe. We didn’t find it scary or shady, all the streets are well lit, and the foot traffic was just normal people going about their day. The Sunday farmers market was a pleasant find. Every night there were sirens and THAT could be heard through the windowpanes. If you’re a light sleeper, this would not be ideal.

I have brought groups (church teams serving and working in the city) to stay at this hotel for many years. It’s only a 10-15 casual walk to the Inner Harbor shopping waterfront area. The hotel staff is accommodating and helpful for any need. The rooms are spacious and newly renovated. You won’t find a better hotel for the money. I highly recommend.
