This is a classic resort hotel in St Andrew’s. It’s a short drive or walk to the wharf. We didn’t want a huge dinner and ate at Treadwell Inns restaurant. Excellent meal using local produce. Algonquin breakfast is excellent - continental or buffet. Room was small but nicely done with quality bedding and nice shower. We did not take advantage of any other resort extras, though you must pay a $25 resort fee.

The room was extremely small considering the price we paid for it. The bathroom was smaller than those we’ve had on a cruise ship. Disappointing to say the least.

It’s definitely an iconic hotel. Everything thing about it is classy. Apparently there are even a few ghosts at the hotel though I never encountered any. Ha. And if you love walking then I suggest you leave the car in parking lot and enjoy St. Andrews on foot.

Clean, and comfortable but poor shower. After both struggling with no hot water, and countless phone calls, we found out that this shower worked back wards. Fix it...or leave a sign informing customers 😒

We loved the Algonquin... the atmosphere, history, friendliness of the staff, the ease of getting down to the waterfront. Our 2 nights there were quite enjoyable.
