Like the first review, I was here when they first reopened a few months ago in 2025. It was the first night of the restaurant and everybody was excited, the food was very good, and prices were fair. The service all around was fantastic (and still is) and the rooms were excellent. I canceled upcoming reservations at an Embassy Suites and came back to Doubletree in December. Again, I had an enjoyable stay. Things have changed since the holidays. The staff are still nice and the rooms clean and cared for… but the food and bar is an absolute mess. Whoever they put in charge needs to be removed. Breakfast will set you back $35-$45 per person. I don’t mind that they add the tip, though they do put the math wrong as it doesn’t match the percentage at the bottom of the receipt. I think the staff deserves every penny of it but the price points for every item are completely out of control and silly. Example-They accidentally put two breakfast plates on my bill (an egg dish and oatmeal) with coffee - and when the bill came it was $58 for breakfast. Somehow they think that they are in New York City, San Francisco, or Honolulu. Not much different at dinner, very high prices for average or mediocre dishes. FYI- If you order a glass of house red wine at 9 ounces at the bar it’s $25 a glass. It’s not just the price point but nothing is correct or orderly, and many of the items you ask for they won’t have it. I have seen several people line up to eat in morning, only to leave. This place needs to get it together or it’s back to the Embassy Suites for me. Great staff though as they’re the ones that are pushed to the limit.

Stayed here less than a week after it opened. The hotel is clean and well appointed. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom was well laid out. The breakfast buffet was great, and they even asked if I wanted an omelette. Service was incredible. Everyone was falling all over themselves to help me and say hello. A terrific full-service business hotel in Laredo.

When logging in to write this review, I referenced this properties history on Trip Advisor. Disregard what you read prior to December 2023; this Double Tree has been open 2 weeks. The Double Tree is working toward differentiating itself as a full-service hotel in Laredo. The lobby makes an impression upon entering. The new employees are attentive to their customers. There is an active presence of employees throughout the hotel as they work to make small issues correct. You will see modest construction work still happening, but there is zero noise from it. Most of it is painting and left over items from the remodel. My rooms only problem was noise from an air conditioner that was fixed after responding to a text from the hotel asking if anything was needed. My work colleague’s room had ants. They accommodated him with a new room that also had ants. He was disappointed but I was pleased with the overall quality and experience. The exercise room on the second floor was fantastic. The newly renovated property is experiencing some modest issues so don’t be surprised if you have to contact someone after check in. We overheard other guest speaking with the front desk asking for fixes. With that in mind, don’t hesitate to stay here as they work toward perfection. The parking garage is below the floors. The building is old so the spaces in the garage are right. If in a bigger vehicle you may need to park on the top level.

1. Not enough elevators, it takes close to 15 mins each time to go up or down,

2. Water pressure for shower is so low it took twice as long to take a shower. Terrible

3. Asked for something they said they will send it but no one e er showed up.

Over all experience poor.

Terrible experience, dirty carpet from years, stains all over the place, the room infested with cockroach, facilities in poor condition. We didn’t stay. The hotel has a non refundable rate. Air conditioning full of garbage, the 7th floor has humidity odor.
