Stayed in town for business. Used Hilton App, so payment was just fine. Digital key worked great. Price is excellent, room was clean, shower was hot, safe surroundings. There was even a little balcony facing a courtyard - though it was too cold and snowy to want to open the sliding door. I’m pretty sure this was a recent remodel or renovation because everything looks new. I didn’t explore much, as I just needed a place to crash for the night. I’ll definitely be back for this price/value.

I booked my room through Priceline, I also paid online. When I got to the hotel I was charged again. The people at the front desk had no clue how to fix it and tried to tell me i booked 2 rooms online. I called Priceline and verified I only booked once and it was there error! My husband and I the next morning came down to get coffee and it was basically hot water, the orange juice was running out and it was just orange water. We checked out. As we are driving back home my card was charged again for the room. Fast forward to today and my card was charged again total 3 times more for a room that I already for. I would not recommend this hotel and I will not be staying here ever again. I am still trying to get my money back! What a nightmare!

I have stayed at this hotel for years. We visit family in Iowa almost 2 times a year. We almost exclusively stay at Sonesta because of the past positive experiences. In the past- we really enjoyed this hotel! This was a very sad experience. I called 2 times in advance to request a 1st floor room. They told me they would sort it out when I arrived. When I arrived- there was a line of people waiting to get their room cards. After about 20 minutes, I received my room cards - the room was on the second floor. I noticed there were numerous first floor rooms that were Unoccupied. I requested a first floor room because I knew I would be coming abs going often and in the past I really enjoyed the patio connected to the room. I requested towels 4 times. It took about 24 hours to get towels. Eventually , a nice man brought up a full set of clean towels. Throughout my visit, I noticed that trash was left all around the facility. There were many stains all over the carpet. The landscaping looks like it has not been tended to in a year. I didn’t expect it to be perfect, however- when you work hard all year and go on a summer vacation - you hope to stay in at least a somewhat attractive hotel. Sone things that really disappointed me were that almost EVERYTHING was out of order… the pool, ice machines, washer and dryer. I stayed at this hotel for 8 nights. I noticed throughout the time I was there - the cleaning staff was very friendly and worked late into the evening. I spoke to the staff several times, not once did they apologize. They just said - management is working on fixing things. If they would have simply apologized for the many things that were not going well or not working, I probably would have been less upset.

Previously reviewed this location. Contacted sonesta and booking several times. Never received a refund. Never stayed. Was cancelled. Talked in person to manager, told me to contact booking. Booking said to contact sonesta, so I contacted both and they never responded. Never got a refund or any answers from either sight.

The price with 3rd party made it very reasonable. But the condition of the Sonesta is very poor. Not very clean. Hallways full of leaves, trash container's outside all full with trash on the ground. Carpets all through the place were very stained. No Kleenex, half rolls of toilet paper ( had to request for more) toilet ran off and on. Tub would not drain water out. I question if there are maintenance team. Which makes me concerned about the elevators checked. No, breakfasts.. But advertised having full breakfast. They did provide coffee. Not sure if the place was safe. I believed they parked 3-4 cars outside to make it appear there were customers. Not sure Sonesta needs their “Brand” to so poor.

This place is an absolute dump. Hot tub doesn't work (and it's clear it hasn't been working for months and months), cigarettes in the entry way that have been there for weeks. Not 1 ice machine works. Breakfast is not available and they say that the "ovens went down just yesterday"; Yea right. Gross, dirty bathrooms. We arrived in the evening and the light for the hotel sign was off so we though the hotel was out of business. The parking lot and drive up were not plowed. When I asked the front desk person (who's car was parked right in front of the entry way) if it had just snowed she said no, it snowed the week before. The sidewalks were not shoveled and if someone fell could be an easy lawsuit. Door #3 was not locked at all. I even went out to my car at 2am and just walked in and out of the door. 0 security. The bathroom was gross. Reminded me of my old frat house. Hair everywhere. Gross ***** from the guest before in the bathtub. In all reality, the Health Inspector should come to this facility and do something. Absolutely no pride in ownership. My guess is it's going out of business and the owner just doesn't give a sh*t an longer.

If the pool & spa are the reason you choose this location, phone first to make sure they're operational. It's an okay hotel but the price they charge is as if all their amenities are functioning. However when we stayed there 7/1/23 neither the pool nor spa were were working. Our main reason for booking this location was mainly for the pool. When we checked in, the lamented sign at the front desk stated the pool & spa are not working. We got in far too late to look for another hotel but I was very upset. I did let the front desk know that I felt they were falsely advertising. I also their called corporate headquarters to let them know that they need to update their website so others know the truth when making booking decisions. Overall the 2nd room we were given (the 1st was not clean) was nice with a comfy bed, and was clean & spacious. The breakfast had a pancake maker (empty day 2 with 3 employees hanging at the front desk) which was new to me & eventually made okay pancakes. The staff was nice & tried to make things as decent as possible. If the pool and spa were working it definitely would've been better and I'd give it a better rating. Lesson learned, always call to check amenities prior to booking.

We have stayed here numerous times when we come to town to visit my Dad. Each visit we notice a bit more of a decline in the property unfortunately. It’s not bad, but it definitely needs some TLC. The courtyard hadn’t been mowed in weeks! It was full of weeds and looked completely unkept. We had a 1st floor balcony room, but given the no landscaping, patio furniture that was in disrepair or very old on most patios and patio doors/windows that hadn’t been cleaned in what appeared to be forever we kept the curtains closed let alone never sat outside. It was a struggle to try and even slide the door open to the patio. The carpet had a large coffee cup size patch job in the living room. Nothing major but it stuck out and was very obvious. The wall by our interior door looked as if someone had spilled coffee and it splattered. Otherwise the room itself was clean and bed was very comfortable. We arrived from New Mexico at 2 pm. Check in was 3 pm. Asked for an early check in and was told 1 extra hr would be $35. Thought that was a bit much literally and figuratively. Especially considering it was a Sun afternoon so peak wknd crowd was gone and I literally saw 3 other cars in the pkg lot. She did let me check in at 2:45 for no addtl $. Did I mention we were staying with our rewards/loyalty points and they still would not allow a 1 hr early check in when the hotel was empty? Not very rewarding for rewards members. When I went to retrieve a luggage cart from the front desk at 5:15 am there was no one at the front desk, but an adult sound asleep on the couch in the lobby in front of the desk. I believe it was the front desk clerk based on the person that checked me out approx 30 min later. ?? Breakfast didn’t officially start until 6 am. However they had everything out at 5:45. This was helpful since we had an early start. Very limited but typical hotel bkst. Yogurt, 2 cereals, bagels, toast, eggs, sausage and bacon. Sign at check in says one bkst coupon per room for one person only which seemed odd, but we were given 2 vouchers at check in. Didn’t question it and said thank you. The gym was clean and all equipment appeared to be working. Very typical hotel gym set up. Asked for a receipt at check out. Was told they couldn’t generate one bc I paid with loyalty points. They said something would be emailed to me. I haven’t received anything…..yet. I always request a receipt showing zero balance when paying with loyalty points bc you have to give them a credit card for incidentals, etc. This property in the past has made a mistake of then charging the room to my card AND deducting our reward points. I always double check this. Sounds like a lot of negative items but we would stay there again. The location works for us, quick access to the freeway and trail system by the river, couple of restaurants near by, etc I’d give them a 3 star rating but they could easily be better with some TLC and just a

Although the hotel is old, it was clean and nice. Bed was comfortable and hotel was quiet. Pool was closed. Breakfast was honestly the worst I've seen. There was very little food at 8:30. We did sleep well, and the price for our room was good, so not a huge deal for us, but it was a disappointing breakfast.
