The room was 80 & no A/C, older hotel, clean, parking lot under construction, so parked 2 blocks away

Neither the hotel’s website nor ******* (where I made my reservation) disclosed that the property parking lot/garage is closed. Upon arrival, I found that both the hotel parking lot and garage were closed. Guests were required to park across the street and carry all luggage, coolers, and personal belongings across a blocked-off area just to reach the entrance. This was a major inconvenience that should have been clearly communicated prior to booking, especially when traveling for a sport competition.
The issues continued once I entered the room. The room temperature was over 80 degrees, and there was no way to turn on the air conditioning or even a auto-fan. The only option was to crack the window and endure the constant roar of I-235 traffic all night, or attempt to sleep in the unbearable heat. Either way, no rest was possible both nights.
In the concierge van, several guests were discussing the same issue with overheated rooms, making it clear that requesting a room change would only result in another room with the same problem.
If you’re heading to the Iowa Events Center, I’d recommend booking a room at another hotel in the area.

Our stay was great. Beds were comfortable. Only issues we had was the pool was so cold, our kids didn’t want to swim more than 15 minutes. One of our rooms didn’t have a microwave but they were adjoining so not a big deal for us.

No complimentary breakfast. Our room temp would not adjust to below 75, so was a hot night difficult to sleep. Parking was confusing due to construction. Otherwise stay was fine.

Near downtown, under construction but clean
The room was clean and main areas we're too. Parking lot was closed so you had to park across the street in lot. The outside of the building seemed under construction or blocked off. Unfortunetly you could not get late check out unless you were a member, very unfortunate.

The parking lot was closed, so you had to park really far away and bring in your luggage. The restaurant and bar had weird hours. I liked that they had a free shuttle to the downtown area.

Parking was across the attached parking due to construction. Bed sheets felt rough and not cozy. Crying baby could be heard through walls.

bathroom swimming pool
The toilet was having issues the whole time and ended up overflowing and flooding the bathroom. 10:30 pm had to switch rooms. to say the least it was not a very pleasant experience for me and the family.
